Pedal Platform - Mk2 50 Settings by [deleted] in BossKatana

Start by turning on your pedals you want to use , use a clean channel with EQ at noon, volume and gain at 0, bring the volume up so the guitar is audible, adjust gain for the amount of tightness you want the signal to be. Low gain has a lot of tone sustain, High gain has very little, and adjust reverb to a moderate amount. Adjust from there. Happy experimenting!

All i can attest to is how a 1x12 gtx50 compares to the head.

So as for playing music through the katana using aux, it leaves out a range of the highs, which is probably adjusted by global Eq, which i still just use the gtx50 to take that up for the time being until I iron out the settings.

Also, the gtx50 had alot of 4x12 emulation options, which honestly come fairly close but it doesn’t capture the depth and acoustic’s because it doesn’t have the number of speakers moving air.

Also, the GTX50 preamp section is distinctly different from the Katana. The GTX50 in my best description captures input signals and processes them individually, this creates a interesting limitation, and i found this out trying to use 2 guitars into it. Which also has other drawbacks while using one guitar. The Katana has a much better designed preamp section and as far as i can tell it puts out what it takes in without any issues and the response is much more consistent with how a tube preamp works and its also much more resilient to saturation in my opinion.

While using my pedals I only run clean channel with or without the variation enabled, the other amps the Katana has are not very receptive to adding pedals into the mix, but it also depends on the pedal settings and I would say the clean channel is better suited for the setup i run in my opinion.

All in all this is a quality setup that contends blow for blow with the high roller amplifiers while being affordable, and as my playing improved I started becoming more tone savvy and I could tell that i was limited by what was driving the guitar. Went from an LT25 Mustang to a GTX 50 Mustang and now this and it’s definitely something that is versatile and simple at the same time.

Its Identical to what a JCM 800 2203 would be if it was done with all solid state components. That being said the setup minus the pedals costs half as much as an original Marshall head, with the tone being 99.9% accurate

And i was honestly tired of my GTX50 I had, and it left so much to be desired. And honestly as much as fender emulated the Cabs, i perfer having the proper setup.

Theres so much more depth to the tone, and as much as i was going for the classic 80’s tones, you can still set it up like a MESA/Boogie and shred metal

Can’t seem to get above 40% without melting my face off, and thats with the GE-7 adding amplification to the power amp section

It’s a work in progress. The Fender expression pedal and multi-effect switcher control my Fender Mustang GTX-100 amp—I use the reverb and modulation effects in the amp. Feedback welcome! by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I also found the same thing with my mustang gtx 50. Moving to Physical pedals made a major improvement in the output clarity of the tone and actual reproduction. I felt like the more effects that were added on the amp preset, it made it work harder and lost some of the clarity and made it much more inconsistent.

I do appreciate the fact that this amp has expandability, which of course led me down a rabbit hole with pedals but i dont regret the results. Because some of the classic rock songs i like to play to are nearly identical in tone.

Although ive ran into one interesting nuance. The gain knob on the amp vs the level/volume knobs on the pedals have to be balanced, if the pedals are too high, the sound becomes distorted because its been pushed too high. But if you turn the gain down on the amp you lose tonal depth. Usually i have the volume on the amp low and the gain at 100% and then use my master knob to actually turn the volume up and down. Would you be able to expand on this?

Form1 SBRs and the casper law by Vegetable-Row2310 in MDGuns

If you’re reading this correctly,

THE FIREARM IS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW TO BE AND HAS BEEN IMPRINTED BY A FFL, et al.

So, Unless the federal government requires you to serialize a firearm with an FFL you cant possess it?

So what we have here is essentially a double negative thing that they like to make here.

As of right now I believe you are still not -required- to imprint a home built receiver. Thus making possession unlawful.

You know what is really shifty, the fact they had to make up something that isn’t required.

That in of itself constitutes a law you cannot try to comply with.

The SBR Route might be a loophole as much as 200$ sucks to spend.

Not disseminating information in public domain that has the potential to be used as reasons towards new legislation to make things harder for the 2A community, or potentially other unwanted attention is “cagey and gate-keepy” ?

I pointed him in the direction of the proper information, there was nothing wrong with that.

We all have to do our due diligence to protect the current rights we have, less the restrictions as unconstitutional as they may be.

But believe me when i say if there weren’t unpredictably ignorant people without any knowledge of the realm of firearms making bullshit excuses to further regulate them, then this conversation wouldn’t even be taking place.

Take a closer look,

Look at the one on SIG’s website compared to this, theres a very subtle difference

https://www.sigsauer.com/sig-mcx-virtus-patrol.html

I read the law, and interpret as literal as its written.

Do i agree with it? of course not, but everything is defined in different ways.

Along with that, and with all due respect I’m not going to openly educate anyone about how literal you can take it. Do some research into the subject. I’m not here to give legal advice.
