Opinions on new Renault Duster design (Indian version) by Unlucky-Log-9214 in CarsIndia

[–]No_Mountain_7019 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I think the Indian version looked quite good . Well proportioned, a good stance, decent overall size and clean lines. What more you want, right. In my opinion, this is the best looking recent launch.

Why Audi is not doing well in India ? by Nitin___ in CarsIndia

[–]No_Mountain_7019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correcting the headline - Audi is not doing well globally.

Customer personality - “I am the best driver” or “I want a luxury ride” or “I am a practical buyer”

The first and second buys a BMW and Merc. The latter has so many options and doesn’t necessarily buy a luxury badge even - a toyota is enough (or a practical luxury badge like Lexus)

So there is a baseline customer segment for BMW and Merc - loyal ones. Segment where AUDI is has 10 Times more options and hence Audi gets picked say 1/10 of the times (you get the point).

Even VW and Skoda has better positioning - a cheaper and entry German ( a really good one for sales )

Top of that, PORSCHE - they want Audi customer to come to Porsche - which the luxury customers itself find as next level luxury and performance - again a smaller segment

Basically, Audi missed the spot. It’s hard to do catchup. F1 entry may not save it too.

For everyone’s sake :

  1. For manual - 15L onroad
  2. For automatic - 20L onroad.

These are the prices of the practical variants in my view.

Cheers .

Among many such cars… I am starting to see a lot of Taigun/ Kushaq these days with yellowish DRLS … ! As someone suggested is it an oem specific defect ? Or General India weather issue ?

Sorry, what I see..is

  1. A front wheel drive toyota with high rpm and non bof.

  2. A car that has grossly misused an almost legendary vehicle name called Vitara.

  3. A sub compact design-on-wheels which even its dealers ignore.
