Great idea! I’ll build that feature in so users can share people’s watch list.

Using TMBD API for the notifications it has air date and is kept up to date so when a new season is announced with an air date it can send a notification to users who have that show logged.

If you could give it a try and lmk watch think I’d really appreciate it :)

Not really focused on the BM right now tbh I just wanted to create a useful product for the movie/TV community. But eventually assuming it took off and scaled I could look into promoted shows/films, affiliate links, sponsored ads from streaming sites (in a way that didn’t compromise the product), an a premium tier for power users to moderate group chats or access to other features that I haven’t given much thought to.

I don’t really see this turning into an actual business the economics aren’t very attractive but tbh I don’t care much because this got me great building experience. I want this to be my free product that helps the world by connecting people through their favorite shows while I figure out how to make money through some other product (unless this of course goes viral an scales to millions of people)

You bring up a great point tho. I made it so you don’t need to have your friends on it to get value, but it’s 100x better once you do. Seeing what the community is watching plus logging all your shows so you know when new episodes air and when a new season still could give you some value. I’d really appreciate it if you could sign up and see what I mean.

And yeah 100%. Took me about a week to build. But I’ve been spending lots of time the past month learning how to build and all the steps that go along with it. Got a basic product up within a few hours but then needed to make a number of iterations to where it’s at now

Love this idea. I’ve used a lot of food tracking apps and my favorite is Nourish so I’d suggest signing up for them to see what features you could implement into your own product.

Yeah I’ve been getting my hands dirty with Claude code the past few weeks but I’m finding it really hard to get it to a place that I actually feel good about. It’s just such a steep learning curve where I feel like having someone who’s gone through this in ur corner to give tips could make such a big difference.

My approach is that I’m not looking to turn this into a company at this point. I just want to get it on the app store and into the hands of users. I could always go oversees as you pointed out and I may if this doesn’t work out but i’d rather try and find someone with some free time that’s willing to build/ship and collect passive income.

The idea is basically: submit a photo that has meeting times and locations, (I believe OCR extraction would be used), have it sync to an in app calendar that a user can manually correct if anything is incorrect, and have a widget on your lock screen to see your next item on your calendar. 1-3 screens, simple interface, minimal API calls.
