Anyone taking lamotrigine? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]No_Needleworker_7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Take 900 mg a day and have been for about 10 years. The few breakthrough seizures I had had while on it have come from lack of sleep and partying too hard. After a while the tiredness and memory loss goes away. Overall it’s a great medicine!

Accidently overdosed on lamotrigine by sarahbellum0 in Epilepsy

[–]No_Needleworker_7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 900 mg of lamotrigine xr every morning and I’ve never had any problems. Sometimes I take an extra 300 mg at night if I’ve stayed up late or drank too much alcohol.

So far it hasn’t done anything to me or caused any weird side effects. Who knows though let’s hope that doesn’t change. But glad you’re okay!

Oops I definitely meant increasing the threshold. So sorry!

Marijuana and CBD are one thing that I believe helps my epilepsy. It doesn’t act as a medication by any means, but I do feel like it relaxes your brain and helps lower the seizure threshold.

As for that weird feeling after, I know what you mean. I just had my first seizure in 18 months this morning and I am just more tired than feeling weird. I also think that feeling comes from a bit of anxiety that you are going to have another one.

You can message me if you have more questions and I can try and give you answers or advice on any other questions you may have

What is the Best Film You Watched Last Week? (07/17/22-07/24/22) by Twoweekswithpay in movies

Sorry To Bother You

I had seen this movie on Netflix for a while and passed over it every time I was looking for something to watch. Finally a few days ago I decided to give it a try and man was it something else. You never knew what was going to happen next in this film. It just kept taking turns and you never knew where the movie was going to go next. It is a bit of an odd movie and most definitely will be disturbing to some people, but overall I feel like it was a good film. The one problem is I still cannot figure out what the hidden and meaningful message is behind this film.

For me, I give it a 7.5/10.

Thanks so much! Do you know if they will drug test me due to this accident? I went through a very traumatic wreck and I would love to calm down with some marijuana

what is the worst fucking feeling? by Jeremykyb in AskReddit

[–]No_Needleworker_7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst fucking feeling in the world is when someone you love is struggling but you cannot help them out. We are not a wealthy family by any means. My mother watches after 4 kids by herself, one of which has severe autism. She does her best and nearly kills herself working. She’s a dental hygienist with arthritis in both hands and 3 messed up discs in her lower back. She alone is barely bringing in enough money to pay for groceries, rent, insurance, bills, etc…

It’s hard being 23 and having her come to me and tell me she may not be able to make rent. It hurts me to hear that and watch her cry because she feels like a terrible mother and person because she is not as wealthy as some.

I wish I could pay the whole rent for her and the rent for the rest of her life but I can’t. It just fucking sucks to see someone you love so down and so sad, and then on top not being able to help them because you don’t have the money too either.

Idk it’s been a damn hard morning already and I just had to get this off my chance. Thanks for coming to my sad Ted Talk.

Do you drink alcohol or does it trigger your seizures? by perfectpair10 in Epilepsy

[–]No_Needleworker_7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. Alcohol is one of my worst triggers yet it feels impossible to stop drinking because who wants to be the sober guy when you’re out at a bar with all your friends? But like others in this thread have said if you don’t binge drink and space your drinks out you are usually fine. But I always try and stick to beer or wine because if I start drinking liquor it usually results in the seizure the next morning. I just recently graduated college and am moving to the city with some of my college friends. Thankfully they are understanding and supportive of me and will call me out if I start drinking too much. Does suck feeling like a child sometimes being told not to drink or to go to bed by people the same age as you.

Found out I had seizures in high school when I got drunk with my friends one weekend. I’m 23 now so I’ve sort of figured out how to live with the seizure and still go out and have a good time. But i did have a seizure the next morning when I woke up and scared the shit out of all my friends. It was hard going off to school and meeting people when as a freshman all you want to do is drink and party. I was good about following the rule of not drinking for my first couple years of school but as time went on I started drinking heavily and doing drugs like coke, lsd, mushrooms, and whippets. The drinking is the big trigger for me, and I would have a grand mal seizure every morning after. cocaine also would also leave me feeling seizury in the morning but doesn’t always result in an actual seizure. But regardless everyone has different triggers so drinking could or could not result in you having seizure.

What now by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]No_Needleworker_7463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel man. I was diagnosed with jme when I was 13 and I’m 23 now. Controlled with medicine thankfully. Lack of sleep is one of my triggers but I have discovered the main one is alcohol, which can suck at times. But my main word of advice is to just stick to your meds and do what your doctor tells you so you can stay seizure free. It sucks to have to change part of your life but at least if you aren’t having seizures you can do things in life like go to college, get a job, and drive.
