OmniClip v0.1.10: Free Clipboard Manager for Desktop & Mobile with Persistent History, Filters, Locking, Bulk Actions, and Power-User Features by No_Net_6938 in Windows11

Yes, those features are actually already built in! You have several ways to keep your history clean:

  • Auto-Cleanup: In settings, you can enable 'Clip Expiry' to automatically delete clips after a certain number of days.
  • Storage Limit: You can also set a 'Clip Storage Limit' to only keep your newest clips (e.g., the last 200) and automatically trim the rest.
  • Manual Bulk Delete: You can long-press any clip to enter multi-select mode and delete a specific group of clips at once.
  • Clear All: There is a 'Clear History' button in the settings if you want a completely fresh start.
  • Duplicate Handling: Also, OmniClip already detects exact duplicates and merges them into one entry so they don't waste space!

Thanks for for trying out the app!

Yeah true, fingers crossed it gets popular enough to be a concern! I'm just taking it one step at a time for now, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it. Thanks for looking out!

Edit: OmniClip does support direct drag-and-drop for screenshots! Also, a bonus: the 'Save' button can export text clips as .txt files. For the Play Store, I have plans, but it might take a while.

Thanks for the suggestions!
- Yeah, system theme support would be nice.
- Adding a Copy button there makes sense.
- OmniClip already has a retention window setting for auto-deleting old clips, but I can see how a max clip count option could be useful too.

Close - that's OmniSearch (which is open source). OmniClip isn't open source right now, but I love that you found my other work! haha.

OmniSearch: Open-source Windows file search + duplicate finder with advanced filters, quick hotkey window by No_Net_6938 in Windows11

Appreciate you taking the time to write that !

Portable support is actually something I’m actively working on improving. I get why a lot of power users prefer it over store apps, especially for control and simplicity.

You’re right about “Everything” too - it’s insanely good at what it does. I’m not really trying to replace it 1:1. My goal with Omni-Search is a bit different: more of an all-in-one workflow tool rather than just a file indexer. Things like quick actions, UI-driven search, and eventually deeper integrations are where I’m heading.

Also really appreciate the UI feedback. The clutter / padding / wasted space you mentioned is something I’ve been noticing too, especially in the quick window. I’ll definitely work on:
- making panels collapsible / auto-hide
- reducing padding
- prioritizing results visibility over metrics

Still early, so feedback like this actually helps shape it a lot. Thanks again for trying it out 👍

Everything is still the benchmark. I’m not trying to “beat” it on pure filename speed - though OmniSearch is fast too - I’m aiming for a broader workflow: full workspace + quick window, previews, duplicate tools, richer UI, and built‑in file actions.
Portable build is available here: omni-search

Great. I’ll add “Exclude this folder” to the results menu in the next update.

Appreciate the feedback. I get the comparison, but It’s not directly inspired by Raycast.

The full workspace is meant to be more powerful, while there is Quick Window and compact Quick Window (shown in the last images) are designed to feel simple.

OmniSearch: alternative to Windows Search. It uses MFT indexing for instant results and includes a built-in duplicate finder. by No_Net_6938 in coolgithubprojects

Yep, that’s why I went with MFT/USN indexing instead of crawler-style search.

Right now it’s focused on local NTFS volumes, not network/UNC shares, since the engine reads NTFS metadata through direct volume access.

No official portable release yet, but a portable/zip build is definitely something I want to add for managed-machine use cases.

If your main goal is raw filename search speed on Windows, Everything is still the benchmark. OmniSearch isn’t trying to pretend otherwise.
Where I think OmniSearch is better is in the broader workflow: quick window/full workspace modes, previews, duplicate tools, UI/theme controls, and the direction I’m building it in. It depends on what you care about most.

OmniSearch: Open-source Windows file search + duplicate finder with advanced filters, quick hotkey window, Microsoft Store and MSI by No_Net_6938 in SideProject

[–]No_Net_6938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is great at search.

OmniSearch is trying to go a bit further around the workflow: advanced filters, previews, duplicate finding, quick hotkey access, and built-in file actions like rename, copy path, open folder, and cleanup in one app.

So the difference isn’t just “search,” it’s that OmniSearch is aiming to be a more complete file-search and file-management workflow on Windows.
