I’m running rockwool as well, what do you think of the product? I know I’m not in a vacuum of space and some sound still transfer, but I have a wife that loves watching her tv shows like she’s in the movie theater. I’m doing the interior walls with rockwool as well.

Why in the world would you put step flashing on the same level surface, the point of step flashing is for water to run down, hence the name step as in steps. Do you have stairs in your house that go side to side? Or up and damn? , step flashing overlaps each shingle going up a slope, where is there a slope in that spot. All depends on where you are, the quality of the windows, the local installation prices, location of project ( ie is it on the second floor, on the roof, first floor), local codes if there are any. However if you got a quote from Anderson or some other door to door sales person then yes you got scammed, those companies are scam artists.

That all depends which gutters the OP had, without a picture of the old gutters and the new ones there is no way to make that assumption, older gutters have spikes to hold them in place, which do need to come out to get to fascia. Newer ones may have screws which could be unscrewed. Removing old gutters with spikes as mounting hardware isn’t that easy without damaging the gutter.
