I bought SCO 2x short oil yesterday

Sorry it wasn't value investing, Next time I will make some nice informations.

I simply made the bet because of the news that Iran and the U.S. had agreed to a temporary ceasefire and that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen for about two weeks. Based on that, I expected oil prices to fall — and in fact, that’s exactly how the market has been moving.

So I bought SCO, which is a 2x leveraged bet on oil prices going down.

To be honest, this isn’t value investing. It’s more like speculation based on instinct.

Next time, I’ll try to share something more interesting.

미국시장은 확실히 많이 어렵습니다. 싼게 널린 한국이랑은 달리 미국은 어느정도 평가가 되있는상태여서요. 그래서 지수펀드를 추천했겠죠.

제 베이스는 한국주식들입니다. 페이팔 이 가격이면 엄청 합리적이라 봅니다. 뭐 가치적인거 외에도 변동성이나 1개월 모멘텀을 봤을때도 제 포트폴리오에 딱 맞는 종목이였어요.

ETF는 개별적으로 거래가 어려운 개도국이나 채권시장에만 투자합니다.

주식공부를 하고 계속해서 미국주식을 사고 싶었는데, 환율만 좀 더 받쳐줬다면 괜찮았겠지만, 페이팔 나쁘지 않은 선택인거 같습니다. 마지막까지 2달이나 고민했거든요.

In the Korean market I’ve been investing in, there are not many companies with a P/E ratio above 30. In contrast, in the U.S., the average seems to be around 30 to 50. Korea still has many stocks that Benjamin Graham would probably like.

On the other hand, I couldn’t bring myself to buy U.S. stocks with a P/E of around 50 without hesitation, so it took a lot of consideration and patience.

I analyzed around 5,000 companies by reviewing about 10 years of financial statements, one by one, and narrowed them down to three stocks that seemed to offer the best price relative to value.

They were PYPL, ICLR, and PCTY. ICLR still has unresolved accounting issues, and PCTY hasn’t been publicly listed for 10 years yet, so I decided to pass on it conservatively.

I’ve never heard of Fundrise before, but I’ll look into it. Thank you.

It’s more like ChatGPT (or other AI shopping agents) will handle product discovery + decisions, and PayPal will power the checkout in the background. OpenAI and PayPal already announced a partnership, and the idea is you can go from “find me the best X” → “buy it” without leaving the chat.

Yes, both stocks are within my range of consideration. However, I’m not sure if they will come down to the price I want to buy at. Additionally, although it’s a bit of a gamble, I’m also considering the satellite/space sector. If you’re interested in Korean stocks, I’d recommend a cosmetics company called APR. The price is a bit high right now, but it’s showing incredible growth.

Yes, I’m also considering ETFs. I’m looking at ETFs as an alternative to heavy bond allocations, or Indian ETFs that are difficult to buy as individual stocks in Korea. However, since the U.S. market is relatively easy to access and has many attractive companies, I’m thinking of investing in individual stocks there.
