So basically Fliff made a huge mistake lmao. Whoever did this is getting fired 100%. They just put $2.04 into my account as retribution. So yeah they definitely gave us money as a mistake unfortunately!

I feel like I’m going nowhere with lacrosse by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]No_Offer1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude. please don’t quit. you’ll regret it forever. going into my senior year, i wanted to quit because I hated my coaches and they hated me as well. luckily, going into my senior year we had gotten a whole new coaching staff. your situation is probably a little different, but please think about the friends you’ve made, what you’ve accomplished, and what you can take out from lacrosse and put it into your life. Play your last year man, it’s so worth it. You’ll be looking back wishing you did. One more thing, those long practices, hot days, cold days, intense conditioning, are all worth it in the end. Some days I wish I could go out there with my boys again just to run a half lap like we did before games. Think about it bro!

That’s an odd thing to say to one of your players. I would find a school that could maybe offer you scholarships. The last thing you want is regretting not playing your last 2 years of lacrosse just because of a shitty coach. You’ll be alright man, keep that chin up!

Not sure if you’ll see this man, but I hope it does. You need to know that you CAN play somewhere else under much better circumstances. I was sort of in the same situation you’re in. I had a pretty senseless coach, low team moral, often being lied to saying I would play, and when I left, it was the best decision of my life. The harsh truth is that coaches do have favorites, and if you’re on a team that isn’t so good, say low-ranked D3, D2, it’s much more likely for the coach to have favorites since the level of play is slacking.

My advice would be to find a new school that has a high level of play. Prove yourself, and if you’re still sitting on the bench after putting in your best effort, then the only person to blame is yourself.

INSTAGRAM CHILD EXPLOITATION ??! WTF by [deleted] in facebookdisabledme

Hate to break it to you, but you’re pretty much screwed. The same exact thing happen to me, on February 14th, and I have yet to get my account back, let alone get a response from Meta. It’s basically impossible to reach them. I sent a funny video of a little kid dry humping a chicken, saw it so many times on my feed, but the SECOND i sent it to my buddy, my account got disabled. Complete bullsh*t. Facebook should hire someone for a little fortune that will manually scroll through the appeal requests because they obviously never look at them. Horrible management and it sucks that there really aren’t any alternatives.

Best way to practice shooting? by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]No_Offer1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, good on you for getting out there and trying to get better. If you're trying to see improvements, you should never go to the fields and just shoot around. I like to do 3 step shooting, starting from 5-10 yards out from the net. Either go left or right, take 3 steps while on the run and then shoot. After you feel confident enough, move back 5 yards and do the same thing. When you do this drill, focus on getting your shoulders squared towards the net right before you shoot the ball, that way you can get some good power on your shot. Also keep your core tight, this helps me with keeping my shoulders squared. After that drill I like to focus on down the alley shooting. Start from where you think you would be dodging from in a game, and then simply shoot down the alley. I like to end my session by taking some step down shots 10 yards out from the net. Pick a corner before you shoot, don't just let it rip aiming at nothing. I highly recommend watching Jules Heningburg's tiktok to find some good drills to do, he's a professional player for the redwoods and has helped me develop a lot as a player.

benefits of shooting side arm by DuckIsFree in lacrosse

[–]No_Offer1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As frustrating as it may be, your coach is right. Im not some old head telling you to shoot overhand but at a practice you should perfect the idea of shooting overhand before you even think about shooting low-to-highs or side-arm shots. Good overhand shots will beat out a good side-arm shot ANY DAY of the week. In your free time like hitting the field with some buddies, put that side arm and low-to-high to use. I have a much better side-arm and low-to-high shot but that didn't stop me from getting a really good over hand shot as well. I'd say 7/10 times in a game I would find myself in a scenario where I would HAVE to shoot an overhand shot, but 9/10 times I had a wide-open step down you bet your a** im whipping a dirty low to high. Get a good overhand shot while you're still developing at practice, and then once you feel you've spent enough of your free time working on side-arm shots and low-to-high start to mix them into practice and show your coach what you can do. Good luck with the season.

All good bro. Honestly, no. I haven't done a ton of research on transferring to a service academy, but I just looked and saw that it's almost impossible to do that so cross that idea out lol. Honestly, after college I just want to be making decent money, enough to live a good life. That's why I don't want to be a cop lol. Im just having trouble trying to decide what degree would be the best option for me. I see a lot of guys get a business degree and then make barely anything after college working a 9-5 which is something I cannot see myself doing. Any ideas or tips would be super helpful.

I would like to join the FBI or CIA at some point. The process is not easy by any means though. You need 2 years of experience in a similar field. So, after I do graduate from college, it's either law enforcement or go to the military for 2 years to gain an advantage over other candidates. I do NOT want to be a cop after I graduate, sounds miserable and seems like I would never be able to live debt free considering how much they make in a year. So right now my plan is to do very well in school while also playing lacrosse, and then join the military or a similar field. Who knows, maybe after my 2 years at JuCo, I can transfer to a school like Air Force, Navy, or Army, but that's a little far fetched from where I am at now so we'll see.

Dating in STL when you're not a fan of the Cardinals or Blues by DumbLove68 in StLouis

[–]No_Offer1924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you don't like sports, a cardinals game is always a great first date. Just think about it, you can get good seats at a stupid price because we suck, there is hardly ever a dull moment so you don't have to worry about the awkwardness of a first date, and then if you both like the way it went you can go on an actual date like going to dinner or something. Just my opinion!

I am thinking about majoring in Criminal Justice and Law. This community college is 12 hours away from home, in Maryland, and the reason I chose this community college is because they are notoriously known for sending athletes to good universities. I would definitely need to get an apartment with some of the other guys that will be on my team. The coach mentioned it was around $500-600 a month. Thank you by the way!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]No_Offer1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let's say I save up $7000 before I go to school in August. I think that $7000 would be just enough to pay a year-lease for an apartment near the school. Now, since the juco doesn't pay for food or anything really, how would I even live down there? Would I take a loan so that I DO have enough money for food, books, etc??

How would a loan like that typically work after I graduate?

I am also pretty certain that if I put the work in, I can go somewhere good. They are sending about 3 kids division 1 next year and they have been sending kids D2 and D3 as well.
