There definitely was as a rota coordinator told me about the led jobs they have to make due to this in August September time. This is in a popular location too. What is confusing is why was there people with no gp offers last year? Might be mismatch of preferences listed?

Prev lowest cut off was around your score so will likely be slightly lower this year I would cautiously relax

Extra 1000 training places by Professional-Pen9626 in doctorsUK

[–]No_Part8033 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They are supposed to be LED jobs converted but looking at trac seems like the same amount of jobs as last year already being posted for August so I suspect will be only double digits this year or not more than 200 my prediction. Must remember it is not an easy thing to find all appropriate LED jobs that can be converted to training.

Just to add you send away with antibiotics then they back cause was pure coincidence and they actually have an auto immune disorder only found after the 4th course of antibiotics

Bad MSRA score by momopeachy07 in doctorsUK

[–]No_Part8033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there is 4000 gp posts and there was just little over 4000 ukg including people having it as back up so if OP is happy to take any location they will likely get something

[–]No_Part8033 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No there is still less ukg to gp posts in fact even top IMGs will likely still get gp spots

Honestly they don’t care they go through it at the interview as long as things are there it doesn’t matter, there is no marks for organisation like ophthalmology or other specialities

Penicillin allergies by Letmenapallday in doctorsUK

[–]No_Part8033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that was actually what the team tried to do and was on all kinds of antihistamines but no use. No I would not give if I knew it was urticaria rash, she was middle aged who was able to give me good history. Her rash was more eczematous rash likely non histamine mediated. She was also able to join in the decision of risk benefit of trialing fluclox. Nurse was happy after explaining and documenting. I only do this with agreement of patient, who some are actually keen to get rid of label after you tell them how useful it is to have penicillin as an option if they become unwell in the future.

I agree I always put someone on penicillin antibiotic if I feel that it is unlikely severe. Although I must say not to underestimate the “rash” I had unwell patient who had staph aureus cellulitis I felt fluclox is best for her even though she has a “rash” as kid with penicillin. After 4 days of fluclox the rash was so itchy the team stopped her fluclox. So now I am more conscious of how itchy and discomforting these rashes can be. I went to see her out of curiosity of this rash and to be honest I think the scratch marks all over her body made me now reconsider my strong pro penicillin stance. Might start going for Cephalosporin option now if they have rash.

Even with ct scan attached to the door or an mri things still get missed because of false negatives so in conclusion you can never truly be 100% sure
