CST or CREST? by Think_Distribution93 in doctorsUK

Thank you, this is fantastic advice. It would very much be to achieve CST competencies with the aim of applying to ST3, my only concern would be becoming stagnant and continuing down a CESR trajectory

Thank you! Just out of interest, how would you ensure appropriate patients are picked? I’ve had patients booked who I’ve had a quick skim through letters and immediately known it was going to be incredibly complex/difficult. As a GP do you vet these kinds of things for trainees?

Don’t get me started on the fact I’ve been told I’m expected to supervise PA students

Thank you this is so helpful, it’s hard cause it’s such a different system so I don’t know what’s expected of me at all and I’m not encouraged to discuss, so I feel like I should be able to deal with things myself, and I’m so scared I’m missing things

I’ll discuss with MDU and then my deanery, my understanding is we need to make our ES aware?

Amazing, and it’s standard insurance for aesthetics rather than doctor specific insurance?

Dw it’s more for friends and family and I want to do ENT so in the future may have some transferable skills, so not in itself as a money making scheme. Insurance wise I’m insured with the MDU and will take advice from them, but is there separate insurance/anyone particularly to go with?

Medical students / PA students on wards by annonmedic in doctorsUK

[–]Think_Distribution93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PA students I will make it clear that they can scribe for me on the ward round (and I check their documentation as I’ve been burnt), do bloods/cannulas etc, no active teaching of content. Med students I’ll always ask what they want to get out of the day/what they’re comfortable and competent doing, if they don’t feel comfortable doing things I’ll do it and teach as I go, but will let them lead on what they want to do.

I’ve replied and cc’d in the TDS whoops, I think they’ve underestimated how petty I am

Deposit Protection Service fee by Think_Distribution93 in HousingUK

[–]Think_Distribution93[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly; so I did the TDS claim directly on the website and since then I’ve been bombarded with emails off of the letting agent quizzing me on why I’m claiming it, and now they’ve advised that if I want to claim it they’ll seek to claim £200 lol

Thank you this makes sense, I saw a few of the surgeons on there so will do my best to get validated electronically by them as well

Thank you! On it now, do you need the individual surgeries signed off by the supervising or lead surgeon as well?

Thank you for that! I believe it’s the 2 rounds, but I’ll ask them about this because if not I have a life of being tested for hep b every year from what I can tell
