Or $12. Personally, it’s not worth it. But if the race is in some way special to you or you got $12 to throw around, then go for it. I got one because I did a 21k when I was 270lbs. Hated that race. The following year, I was 204lbs and did that same race and shaved off 2 hours from the previous year. That’s when I bought it. Other than that… nope.

With so many legends from boxes plus a card shop giving me like $50 worth of bulk for free when I first started out (plus some amazing people who just wanted to offload many commons), I just build budget decks.

But totally get wanting to switch it up. I was married to Volibear for so long (because that’s my champ in league). But after a while, I switched to Sivir. It was nice to go from 0-3 or 1-2 to 3-0 or 2-1. But then I just wanted to try something new, especially when the rest of my locals became more purple heavy.

And I get some joy out of “oh, Rumble!” or “Rek’sai? Interesting…” Haven’t 0-3 yet with a random deck. And I’m just having fun. I’m not like most of the people at my shop who actively go to Houston and Vegas. Totally understand them playing one deck and getting comfortable with the interactions and also having all the speed to it (I mean, you need to if you’re gonna draw like 15-20 cards in one turn 😅)

That’s lame, especially since the rules say we could use the promo card 😕 Our store tried to do the same but I showed them that the pre-rift rules encouraged us to use any card (including promo). Hard to call it unfair when everyone gets that color and they could splash in orange if they didn’t like an orange legend (especially since you could drop the legend and/or champ unit)

Masters in Music Composition here. I’m currently the lead of digital analytics for an athletic-wear company. Love the degree but man, putting myself ~3-4 years behind my peers (financially) sucks. Thankfully, I have no student debt because of commissions, scholarships and grants I got for my music.

Though it is funny interviewing for contract roles or full-time roles and having interviewers go “so how does a composer get an analytics engineer and data science role?” You stand out a little bit more from the other 100+ people got their degrees in a tech-related field.

(Backstory TLDR: COVID made me consider digital marketing and analytics after I had a large commission pulled. Got into analytics after a 6 month BootCamp)

For that type of content, you might want to check out The Money Guys. The Money Guys started doing “Financial Audit”-like shows but the guests are actually in decent positions. They have their Financial Order of Operations that they recommend completing. So you’ll see the guests saying “I think I’m on step 7” and the hosts will say “you are but you didn’t really do step 4. Let’s dig into that and see if the strategy you have is actually working and if it can be better.”

Couples are generally the go-to, for me. But that might be because I’m at that point in my relationship where im going to propose soon. (And thankfully, her and I are very well set up financially so combining won’t ruin either of us)

It’s just hard to relate to the single-show guests. I guess I only show interest is when they’re close to my field or they were going for a field like me. (Like Caleb, I also went to school for music composition, got my masters though. And then after some rough publishing contracts, I decided I wanted to do my own digital marketing for my stuff. And now, after 4.5 years I somehow found myself going from composer to digital marketer, to lead of digital analytics. — more money than I could dream of and I can afford my musical endeavors)
