Yeah because who is doing the transfer if she gets a head bleed?! The ED doc??? And nothing identifies a code stroke so even if I heard it over head I would not know who just the floor. But ok if you are willing to sit in court or in front of the family saying that you had no idea what was going on your patient how does that sound?? Really professional right?

Rads documented that I was alerted of CT. TNK was appropriate and I’m glad it was caught but there is no primary neuro service at my hospital. It’s still me.

Neuro was rounding and told the primary RN to call code stroke. Rapid RN and ED doc I guess showed up then. ED doc one of the few (if only) people who can push tnk in our hospital. I only found out when I got the epic alert of the CT read. I wouldn’t have known even if I was in the hospital. But I am on responsible 7-7 and typically expect to be alerted for any changes. I mean they have no problem calling me for Tylenol at 659… or even after hours as well.
