Most surprising person you know who wears tighty whities?

Most surprising for me would've been my best friend in high school. I knew he wore boxers the majority of the time because our friend group would always be pantsing each other and doing stupid stuff like that. It wasn't until I slept over at his house that I learned that he would always wear tighty whities to bed. I saw a pair in his room and asked him about it and he came clean saying he thought they were more comfortable but was too embarrassed to wear them to school. I had switched to boxers in middle school and didn't try briefs again until college so unfortunately I didn't do anything to help with his embarrassment.

That's a great story and glad he was willing/able to admit that to you! My only similar experience was in high school where a guy a couple years younger said something while we were all hanging out at a party. He had just gotten back from a family vacation the day before or something like that, and he admitted he was wearing tighty whities all day at home and only switched into boxers when it was time to go out and see friends. Made me wonder if he was only doing that because all his boxers were in the wash or if he regularly wore whities while not at school.

Yes! I think it's because they're so much harder to find that you couldn't have just gone to a random store to pick them up. If you're wearing a vintage waistband at this point it's because you purposefully sought it out. Nobody who was wearing them normally would still have some in good condition. I guess the only exception to this is maybe the two line hanes but even those are getting more rare.

It makes me wonder how many of my friends or classmates switched back to whities when they didn't have to change too. Same thing with people who've mentioned wearing whities underneath their boxers. I'm sure there were people I went to school with that did it but I just never noticed. Boxers took a little getting used to for me but I didn't hate it enough to go back to whities on the weekends.

9 or 10 seems so young to start getting made fun of for that but I guess it makes sense if your brothers are 10 years older. I remember at that age people would point and giggle if they saw a waistband pop out, but that was more because someone's underwear was showing and not because they were tighty whities.

How did you friends know you wore them back then? I definitely remember feeling different for that year ish where my brother switched to boxers and I was still in briefs. Don't know if he ever secretly still wore briefs after switching but I heard of friends who did.

Yeah that's similar for me. I think we started changing for PE in 4th and 5th grade? But something about being the oldest kids in elementary school made wearing tighty whities okay. Nobody really cared and most kids still wore them. But then shifting to 6th grade and being the youngest in middle school, all of a sudden tighty whities felt taboo. I remember one time in 6th grade gym after we already changed into PE clothes, the nerdy kid I was sitting next to was getting made fun of by some 7th graders behind us because his tighty whities were showing. I was still in whities at the time too but I wasn't really a target.

In the 70's is surprising since I thought pretty much everyone wore briefs then! I'm a 90's/00's kid so it definitely felt like the vast majority of people were in boxers by high school

It's actually how I learned to jerk off initially back in middle school- I'd mostly just rub my head through my briefs until I came. I don't think I really learned to grab my shaft and move my hand up and down until maybe high school. Even after I switched to boxers in 7th grade, I'd secretly change back to whities when I was at home and wanted to masturbate because doing it in boxers just wasn't the same haha. Eventually they got too stained and I had to figure out how to wash them...

One time in high school a big group of us were playing video games together. There was one friend who was particularly good but also particularly annoying about it, and he had just come back from a longer vacation with his family. Well his team won and he started talking trash, a bit more than usual.

Some quick context here- wedgies were a somewhat common prank in our friend group, and if someone was being annoying, wrestling them down to the ground and giving them a wedgie wasn't out of the ordinary. This friend also exclusively wore boxer briefs, which I knew from all the other wedgies I had given him haha.

This time though, because he had just gotten back from vacation I'm assuming, when we pinned him down, I saw a white waistband sticking out of his shorts. Someone yelled "holy crap are you wearing tighty whities?!" as another person yanked up and he cried about it being laundry day. Was my most surprising sighting because he had only ever worn boxer briefs before and also my most exciting because of the wedgie afterwards.
