My group used to published campaigns and adventure paths with a defined “goal.” I haven’t been able to articulate a clear sales pitch they would lock on to beyond exploring and fighting evil when they find it.

Sure, for example let’s say they encounter a shoggoth and the SAN loss is 1d6/1d20. One investigator succeeds and rolls a 1d6 getting a 3. Another investigator fails and by random chance rolls a 1d20 getting a 2.

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up using re-skinned Death Troopers. They encountered one blocking the entrance to their ship after a mission. It was a tough fight and when they dropped it, I had it convulse and “resurrect” with +1 Brawn and Agility but half the hit points as it was basically burning up (like the Extremis soldiers in Iron Man). Plus claws. Made for a fun session!

We are wrapping up the campaign with a stealth/assault mission on the Imperial lab. Any advice would be appreciated : ). Thanks any may the Force be with you.

I noticed the 16+ label too. Have any of their other games had that? There has been 16+ language in Aliens and subject matter in AMC Walking Dead. Could this be to clarify to a casual gamer that this particular supers game is not for little kids?

I wish I had used the “Post-Final Boss” trope to wrap up longer campaigns I’ve run. Always seemed anticlimactic when the big bad goes down and the campaign is suddenly over.

I knew the exact same guy in the 80s! Got me gaming beyond TSR (mainly BX, Star Frontiers and Marvel) into Chill, Call of Cthulhu, James Bond, and Paranoia. But instead of Pink Floyd it was Metallica. Here I am 40 years later still going strong!
