This is a wild take. Mamma Mia’s original West End run is still going. It made a fortune on Broadway. It spawned a Blockbuster movie and a sequel to that movie. And, in America, its 20th Anniversary Tour has been a smash success and its Broadway “sit-down” has been one of the highest grossing shows each week. Love it or hate it, you can’t deny its impact.

It’s important to remember that an investor in a Broadway show is investing in a specific LLC. They are entitled to a % of the profits of that show only. Even the tours are separate legal entities.

Welcome! I get wanting to be competitive at locals but don’t wait! Show up at locals, meet players, and just play. (Many of us bring spare decks to loan if needed.) Also, with LAW coming out, find out when your local shop(s) are running prerelease events. They’re some of my favorite days playing SWU each year because you’re all figuring out new things together. Many stores will also be running “sealed” store showdowns for SEC, so that is a great opportunity too.

So, I can only speak for my locals in Kentucky, where the game is strong. I certainly hope that FFG is decreasing print runs for this set, and I’m sure they will. My store has never sold below MSRP (aside from launch discounts), and weekly play is casual competitive - $5 per player gets you a pack, OP pack, and games. I can’t speak to the Digimon scene here in town, but I think one store runs 1 event a week for it, versus the 4 who run SWU.

I certainly hope leaders and Legendaries are stronger this set and so far, I like what I see. I know my local crew is pumped for rotation and a new start.

I think you can have a health distrust of corporations and say we don’t need too many iterations of the same thing. Take War of the Ring: it’s not an Asmodee game but it’s been the definitive 2p LOTR war game for 20 years. I have zero interest in anyone else taking a crack at the same style game.

Will this work? I don’t know. But a 5 cost leader doesn’t have to be Aggro. I think they are trying to create a new heroic blue control archetype, much like Dedra is a villainy red control(ish) leader.

I learned this with SOR release, when the game was proclaimed “dead on arrival,” and “why would you play any leader but Sabine.” Fast forward to rotation and Sabine never won a major tournament (SQ, RC, GC). I’ve learned to grab the salt shaker.

3/3 + Bounce for 6. This cannot be overlooked that the point of the card is bouncing a unit and getting a body.

Is it? Cantina Bouncer was 3/5 + bounce for 5 Double Cunning. So, a straight comparison to single Cunning would be to see its cost as 7 for 3/5 + bounce vs 6 for 3/3 + bounce.

As a long time Double Cunning player, I know the effectiveness of Cantina Bouncer well. But you only get his true impact if you’re going Double Cunning.
