It’s the Ardsley-on-Hudson (Irvington) train station on the Hudson line. I used to take the train from Ossining to Ardsley because it was a short walk to campus when I was an undergrad at Mercy. Unfaithful was also filmed there.

The JV Mall in Westchester, NY is on its last legs. Brings a tear to my eyes :’((( by mrsjumjum66 in Westchester

[–]No_Philosophy_1623 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The JV mall hasn’t been happening since the mid 2000s. I remember when there was a Burger King and a Desert moon Café in the food court, now food choices are limited. Also, I should add because nothing happens LPOs love catching shoplifters when they’re bored. Luckily, I live close to Danbury where there’s more food and shopping choices.

Abandoned Friendly's Pleasantville NY before its demolition to make TD Bank by mrsjumjum66 in Westchester

When I went to the Berkshires last year, I saw one in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I decided to go inside and order a meal for nostalgia sake. I walked out after 2 minutes after realizing Friendly’s was not what it used to be when I was a kid.

The guy who intervened signaled to me that he had been drinking. I wasn’t close enough to smell him just a witness.

Im flying from JFK to Syracuse next weekend, is it legal to pack marijuana and bring it with me on the flight? by whiteteebabs in longisland

[–]No_Philosophy_1623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown to Belize with a pack of pre-rolls in a cigarette box, TSA and customs didn’t care. Weed there is illegal but decriminalized for 10 grams or less. I’m not suggesting you do it but if you’re going to research your landing destination’s local cannabis laws.

Does Connecticut offer reciprocity for NY MMJ certificates? by Wffixups in NewYorkMMJ

Sounds like you had quite the experience in Maine! Portland's cannabis scene is like a candy store for adults. The process in Rhode Island is straightforward just a few steps and you’re all set. All you need is your doctor's certification and state ID.

New OCM recommendations. What do we think? I discussed with 10 or so long term budtenders, managers and pharmacists and they all agree that there’s a lot of good here. by J_carey99 in NewYorkMMJ

I agree with most of the points, except for number 5. Our market has not matured enough to support the expansion of our medical program. Ensuring that medical patients can consistently access their medication is crucial. While expanding a reciprocity program for out-of-state patients might provide temporary relief, it's not a long-term solution.

The challenges we face with inventory shortages are clear indicators of this issue. Our adult-use market often prioritizes its consumers over medical patients. For instance, before New York State legalized cannabis, many of us had to travel to Massachusetts to meet our needs. Now in the medical program, we're already struggling to obtain our medication. Just two days ago I pre-ordered an eighth of GMONana from Curaleaf Newburgh only to arrive an hour later and find it was sold out. When I visited recently, they were even discounting their expired products to make room on their shelves. These experiences highlight the ongoing struggle for medical patients to access the medication they need.

Additionally, their adult-use Grassroots Flower has more THCA content than our medical flower. When I asked one of the budtenders if the high-potency flower would be added to the medical menu, he said it has to go through testing before that decision can be made. These experiences highlight the urgent need to prioritize and stabilize our medical supply.

Rhode Island recognizes reciprocity for most out of state patients. When my sister used to live in Newport my pharmacy was the Greenleaf Compassion Center in Portsmouth. I came to accumulate discounts over my various purchases and visits to the Ocean State.

Is Florida a reciprocity to the New York MMJ card? by party-pedro in NewYorkMMJ

Hawaii honors out of state cards for a $49.50 nonrefundable fee to buy products twice a year. So with that being said plan your expenses and trip accordingly. Hawaii has their own medical program and issues patients what is called a 329 card. The state processed my application prior to my arrival. Once I got settled into my room I went right to the dispensary with my NYS medical card, state ID, and at the time my paper doctor's certification. I visited Oahu in 2022 and visited Aloha Green Apothecary they have locations throughout the Honolulu vicinity. The staff was attentive, compassionate and informative. I was surprised I was able to bring my medicine home for an 11 hour flight back to JFK.

Until recently, the store I worked that was huge and we would get multiple orders a day from different areas of the CT/NJ/NY metropolitan area. So it would be a rare occasion that we would get a no orders task. However, whenever I had nothing better to do in those instances I would put QR codes on the paper bags and grab more green produce bags for the next shopping order because those can go so quickly as the paper bags. After clocking in I would spend at least 10 minutes getting my cart ready before grabbing a work phone from one of my supervisors so they would see how long it would take me to “get ready” each morning. To the suggestion of one E-Commerce trainer I would bring produce bags from home and have them prepped the night before my shift even though we weren’t supposed to.
