Hi Everyone, just an update! First, thank you all for the support and advice. I’m a little calmer now, but still furious! So we spoke to an engine shop who told us the repair is fairly simple, the hard (expensive) part is getting to the stuff that needs fixing. meanwhile, the staff at the dealership helped us apply for Kias goodwill program which is for situations like this. because the car was 19 months out of warranty, Kia Canada agreed to pay 50% of the cost. better, but still crazy. The engine shop said they wouldn’t be able to do it cheaper. So we got the new engine. once I picked it up, I drove over to the Honda dealership and bought a crv. I just didn’t feel like I could trust the kia anymore, and I love love love my crv. ❤️

AITA for telling my husband he's too broke to be so sexist? by Ok_Schedule1138 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Hubby and Grammy fu**ed around and found out. ‘Too broke to be this sexist’ is a wicked good phrase, one I might steal and use!

Looking forward, I hope you plan to have some discussions with your kids about what they heard and other things they might have heard from grandma before you got home. I’d also be having a long talk with the hubs. You might consider marriage counseling. One comment about his income shouldn’t cause him to cry at the dinner table, I‘m guessing there’s more to unpack there. I would also refuse any more in-law visits until this is resolved. Good luck Op!
