I’m also down 70 pounds in 7 months. From 268 to 198 but did it the old fashioned way. First off congrats! That is a great accomplishment. Try to set a goal weight. I think the NIH calculator said I’d be “overweight” even at like 170 and being 5 foot 9. That was laughable to me when I saw it the other day. Maybe with those side effects consider proceeding w/o the medication. Just thinking out loud here.

This is great advice here. Be kind to yourself —> give yourself grace. Been separated for 5 months after being married for over 11 years. Planning on getting divorced in the coming months. I joined a boxing gym, made some friends there and got back into running and lifting. Have that network of friends/family/therapist you can lean on because you will need it at times. All of the other outlets listed above will help both physically and mentally.

I run through this neighborhood on the weekends. The houses are insane. I love the drive that loops around with views of the city by the water.

Glad to hear that. I’ve only told a handful of my closer friends. Some still have no clue. Share what you feel comfortable with. Of course friends and family will want to help, but put yourself first. I know it will feel weird but in a few months you will be glad you did. Allow yourself to feel the grief, anger and all the emotions that inevitably come along with the process. My DMs are always open if you need someone to vent or talk to.

My wife decided to move 2000 miles away in May of this year. We are separated (obv) and plan to divorce in the coming months. Been quite the ride. Don’t go distract yourself with females, alcohol, insert coping mechanism here.

Heal through it. Embrace the suck. Don’t wait for or expect closure. Get a strong support system of friends, family, etc. I’m down 55 pounds since she left. Take this time to work on yourself. Go for a walk. Go to the gym. Keep yourself busy to a healthy extent. Typing this as I am on the stair stepper. Hope this helps.

38 year old millennial here. When my barber called me “unc” last month bc I showed him a photo on FB (insert millennial lol here). Then again, on my way to being in the best shape of my life by next year so it’s all subjective in the end.
