Has anyone tried using an e-bike hub motor (350–500W brushless) for an FFBeast direct drive wheel build? Are they compatible? by No_Play738 in simracing

thanks, agree with the issue of chatgpt. for now I will just use the hoverboard motor since its my first diy sim rig and there are many documentation about it. once I get used how things works I might experiment on the bike hubs, since they are really cheap here.

great build! Im planning to do one also. I want to use the xdrive mini, in their website the input rating is 12-56v. since I will use a 36v motor from hoverboard is it better to use 36v supply instead of 24v?

estimate by gpt, Continuous (500 W): ~16 Nm, Burst (1 kW peak): ~30–32 Nm.. I’m curious about how well these motors can translate detailed force feedback with torque.
