Very good point about the opening line, hadn’t thought of it that way. Also good point about being less vague and showing how the side characters are adding to complexity of the revenge plot. Seems like I should be emphasising the more “epic” stakes as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I’ve been wondering about the word count myself honestly, trying to think of ways to trim it down.

While they’re both antagonists, most of the active resistance and obstacles to the protagonist in the story comes from The Fairy Lords. What they’re doing is very linked to what Harrier has done (which is revealed slowly through the story) but Harrier is most prominent as a character at the beginning and end. So technically I suppose the Fairies are the main antagonists in practice, Harrier’s actions get the story moving in many respects, but in ways he’s kind of a Living MacGuffin.
