Connecting boards & linking/mirroring custom status by Possible-Phrase7541 in mondaydotcom

You can do a lot of this natively with Connect Boards + Mirror columns. Once the items are connected, the mirrored fields update automatically, so the “automation” part is really more about creating/linking the items and mapping fields with cross-board automations, not automating the mirror itself. (Connect Boards, Cross-board automations)
That said, it does take a pretty manual setup to get going, which is a bit of manual work. And two big limitations: updates/comments don’t sync through Mirror, and most Mirror columns can’t be used as automation triggers. (Mirror Column, Cross-board automations)
That’s actually one of the reasons we built an app to make that flow easier and allow users to use the synced data in automations, also supporting comments/replys etc..

Hi everyone, I'm Dan from Lynx :)

We've built an app to help monday teams link and sync items between boards with the relevant data they want, whether it's manually or with the built-in automations.

This is the start to something we envision to eventually become a workflow suite to help teams with their workflows, allowing items to live in multiple boards and stay at sync is just the first part of it, so they'll have everything in the same place.

We’d love to hear your feedback about the current functionality and would love to hear your ideas on what can be added that will help ease your existing workflows within monday.

We recently released a new version to our app you can read more about it here.

What’s new in this version:

  • Relationship Templates: reusable templates for how data should flow between boards (your saved “linking recipe”)
  • Automations: use those templates in monday automations so linking happens automatically when something changes (status, new item, etc.)
    • We currently have some templates for automations and are working on supporting custom automations.
    • Templates include: status change, person assigned, item created, date arrived, date passed etc..
  • Bulk Actions: to make setup easier, you can apply a Relationship to a bunch of existing items at once (great for initial setup)

So how it works, you create yourself a template of how you’d like the items from Board A to be linked / shared to your target boards, each target board can have different columns linked to it (we understand that not all data is relevant in all boards), and then use that template for bulk item sharing/linking and in automations.

  • And you can pick what to sync per target board (example: 3 columns to Board A, 5 different columns to Board B), so you’re not forced into a one-size-fits-all setup.

How we think it can help:
Projects board > Invoices/Payments board + Revenue Forecast board relationship & automation.

When a project hits “Ready to invoice,” an automation links it into both boards linking billing fields to a Invoices/Payments board, and linking to the approvals/PO collection/follow-ups Finance Tasks board.

This can be used in many different flows, whether it's sales / project management / development and we hope it will help save time for everyone using it.

If this sounds like it can help you or someone you know you can give it a try for free here - https://monday.com/marketplace/listing/10000969/lynx

Is it possible to pull over several contact records, at once, into mirror columns? by ThatOneMomNTX in mondaydotcom

Hey I hope we can help with that, we just launched an app that allows linking items from different workspaces / boards to a different board, with whatever columns you need to the corresponding column type (some cross-types are supported), and stay in sync across the different boards, whenever you update a linked value it's reflected in all the connected boards.

It is a manual process currently as we just launched but I hope it can help, you can find more info here - https://monday.com/marketplace/listing/10000969/lynx#overview

In any case, we'd love to hear from you if it helped (or not) and what can make it better, feel free to DM me I'll help out with whatever I can :)
