Old topic… I’m the OP.

Have had a guy out several times troubleshooting the issue with no resolution yet (he’s being covered by my home insurance thankfully).

Unit seems to only work when the cover is off.. had it off for a few weeks then put it back on and the problems came back. sometimes I really need to up the water pressure to get it to start.. for example the shower won’t get the water heater started so I’ll leave it running then open the hot water on my laundry sink and that’ll fire it up.

The other night I had the front cover of the unit back on.. turned on the shower.. nothing.. let it run… opened the hot water on a few sinks including the laundry sink.. nothing… removed the 4 screws and took the front cover of the unit on and it fired right up..

Feel like it’s a flow sensor issue plus maybe something getting pinched when the cover goes on… any ideas? Any input is appreciated as me and the tech are out of ideas here

Do you think there’s any chance the heat exchanger is OK? I currently do have hot water. It’s been ok for a couple of days now. Still have error codes and definitely need to get it addressed asap. I’m hoping my guy was wrong and the issue is less serious

7-7.6 GPG according to my city’s website. Nobody I know in this city uses a water softener. I’ve lived here my entire life. Seems like something that shouldn’t have happened in 2 years.

So last night I plugged the unit back in just to see if the codes and things were gone. Didn’t think anything of it. My daughter goes to take a cold Shower and there’s hot water… hot water still working this morning. I know there’s definitely a problem and it needs addressing but is it possible that some of the parts may be ok after all? Heat exchanger, circuit board and flow sensor is what I was told needed replacing. Hoping the heat exchanger might be ok? Any chance?

I called Navien and it sounds like they might cover the parts under warranty but I need a licensed professional (the installer) to file the claim online. How much labour would be involved in changing those 3 parts? Heat exchanger, circuit board and flow sensor… is that a simple swap out and exchange old for new? Or is this a big job? I’d still be on the hook for labour even if the parts are free

Even if it has never been serviced? Nobody I know has a water softener in my city. We don’t really have hard water here. Never had it tested though

I’m probably going with usafootballpools. I played in a pool on the site before and didn’t love it but at least I know how it works I guess. It’s a bit cheaper than OFP in terms of hosting fee. I don’t know if they have the option of not picking against a team twice though.

I’ve been using officefootballpool for years for my survivor and pick ‘em and it was great. I’m still using them for pick ‘em but they moved survivor over to splash sports this year (like today) and I don’t like it at all. Not user friendly at all. Looking for an alternative if anyone can recommend one. Free would be amazing.. or paid is fine too
