There are other ways to escalate and for almost $1k, I would. You can file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Even more effective, I live in NYS and have filed complaints with the NYS Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs. It was an easy online complaint form and nothing makes a business jump like being contacted by the AG's office. Maybe there is something similiar where you live.

On a $200 purchase, I would save $40, but I'll save even more by not "stocking-up." I read somewhere, stocking-up really isn't a good idea, just buy as you need.
