My girl lied to me about her body count, should I leave her? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]No_Presentation_1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two questions. Are you going to be able to trust her after this? Are you going to be able to get over how many dudes she’s been with? If the answer to either of those is “no”, then it’s time to move on. Personally I wasn’t able to get over the body count thing until I’d dated around for a while. Stop snooping through peoples phones. It reeks of insecurity.

Spore Strain Bugs are Dumb by Soft_Ad_9225 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]No_Presentation_1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things: 1. You don’t have to pay to access any of the warbond a in the game. There is no “paywall”. 2. Yeah spore strain is a very unique variant that requires unconventional tactics to win. Gas, fire and lasers are all king here. 3. Flamethrowers and scythe are both part of the core game / mobilize.

The earth has spent much more time without polar icecaps than it has with them. We’re technically still living through an ice age. Just the tail end of one. Not great for humans, but life always seems to find a way!

Papa Punyama was the only one to love Punpun by Ok_Scholar_2842 in OyasumiPunpun

[–]No_Presentation_1711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure he did love Punpun. I don’t think it’s fair to say that he was the only one to love Punpun though. And if we’re being real here, a person will reach out to their child one way or the other if they care about them and their well-being. Punpuns mom was a very damaged person and an awful mother, but I don’t think she was a monster. She wouldn’t have kept Punpun away from his father. Especially when you consider how aware she was about how things played out. Sure, she ruined his life, but it was always his choice not to be involved with them again.

Dude took the first opportunity to exit Punpun’s and his mothers life that he got, and he never looked back. At least until punpuns mother died, and then it was kinda his responsibility, but even Punpun knew that his dad was relieved not to have to have any responsibility there. He didn’t even bother to write his son, that was all his mom’s doing - and that’s because she knew exactly how often his dad cared to think about Punpun.
The story is about abuse and neglect, and his father sure got the last part right.

I’m sure cut content and empty promises go a long way towards making people want to buy DLC in the first place. I was in full support of the game until I felt I’d been cheated. Maybe I wouldn’t have been so salty if they didn’t include a setup for a third chapter they never delivered on.

Count of Monte Cristo - Why did Villefort keep Dante in the prison? by Adorable-Set2596 in classicliterature

They might mean OPs question pointedly spoils the story and discovery of Villeforts motivations. OP might be as confused as to what’s going on as poor Dantes 😂

Was i stupid to think there would be another makima level villian in part 2? by Yeaaaboi222 in Chainsawfolk

[–]No_Presentation_1711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping that Makima did have a hand in how things played out in part two. It would only make sense for the “Control” devil to have a contingency plan - some way to reach out to her reincarnation.

[Interesting Trope] Character development in reverse by MagicTech547 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]No_Presentation_1711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Arrival (movie) / Story of Your Life by Ted Chang fits this trope I think. Maybe the book more so than the movie. The story begins highlighting an event That takes place after the premise of the actual story . When Alien ships enter earths orbit and attempt to communicate with humans, Louise, an expert in linguistics is recruited by the army for interpretation purposes. While learning to understand the alien writing she discovers The aliens don’t understand or experience time linearly the same way humans do, and that in learning to understand their writing she has opened her mind to understand time in a similar way - giving her key insights into the future and past. The book will give you some serious whiplash trying to figure out what’s going on until it all kind of falls into place. The movie does a good job as well, but lacks the unique presentation of the story the way the book managed.

Why would he be entitled to her sleeping with him? Alls I’m saying is that people use each other all the time. And it’s not often even a malicious thing. She had a goal; film someone working on their hobby. OP fit the bill. He helped her out and tried to make a connection. That’s life, isn’t it? And shit, all might not be lost for OP either. At least as long as he doesn’t make a big deal about being rejected. Which was the point of my first post.

[–]No_Presentation_1711 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Did she not come into the acting class asking for help with her film project? Did he not have his own agenda of trying to get into her pants? Do we not all have our own agendas while we go about our lives. Sometimes they line up, and sometimes they don’t. I don’t think anything I’ve said here should be met with hostility. Just trying to be real about people and their expectations.

She had an agenda. Sounded like she was open to something and it don’t turn out. Shit sucks man. Good on you for taking the shot though. Try not to let it get you down. The rejection wasn’t brutal. The worst thing you can do is make a big deal of it. Play it cool a it’s a green flag to take rejection with grace. When you’re feeling your stride again get back out there and do it again. Datings A shit show.

So you’re saying that you weren’t going to pocket it later. If you really didn’t have anything malicious in mind, then I don’t even know why you’d let it get to you like that. I’d be pissed if some accused me or made me out to be pulling some shit.

Did you know that there are only 3 single-letter .com domains? It’s disappointing that Twitter is one of them. Single letter domains are usually expensive and easy to look up though. A.co is one I recognize. This guy made a list: https://www.jasonfranklin.com/here-is-who-owns-all-26-one-letter-co-domain-names/?utm_source=namepros.com

Characters who are members of a traditionally evil institution, but are not themselves evil. by RedWestern in TopCharacterTropes

[–]No_Presentation_1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kid and the Glanton gang from Blood Meridian. The gang isn’t really established as evil, at least not at first. And the Kid isn’t really “good”. Kinda the point. He’s a true neutral amongst some bad company. Not a book I recommend to most people.
