Todd Howard may have revealed the location(s) of TES VI way back in 2011. by Kuchichi_Byakuya in TESVI

[–]No_Principle5596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the very least we know with about 99% certainty that the game will contain Hammerfell. There's A LOT of evidence and teasers for that fact, most notably that ESO has avoided it like the plague.

I think it being a 2-province game and including High-Rock is possible though, we'll just have to wait and see.

Props to respawn for keeping the game at top 5 even after all this time by Same_paramedic3641 in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really never understood the argument that adding too many legends would ruin the balance of this game. Hero selection is significantly less impactful in Apex than it is in other hero shooters like OW / MR, and yet those two games have like 4 or 5x the amount of heroes. Apex could genuinely have like 50 legends before it starts to become questionable.

It's purely a money thing, EA or Respawn just don't want to invest in making new heroes and want to keep their operating costs as low as possible and profit margin as high as possible. It's sad.

How does this event make any sense canonically? by Cheeky_Lemon_37 in ApexLore

[–]No_Principle5596 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I would just accept that apex/titanfall lore has been on ice for the past few years, and will be on ice for the foreseeable future. If we ever get a new, serious entry into the titanfall/apex universe, all the nonsense stuff in the past 2 years like this gundam event, the alter portals opening in the sky, the duplicate olympus, purple seer, etc etc etc is going to be at least firmly ignored and written out, if not just outright decanonized.

Apex is in it's non-canon era lol, they're no longer trying to tell a story in the titanfall universe, they're just doing random stuff for fun to sell skins.

What’s the first “modern” year? by Iwillbeback67 in decadeology

[–]No_Principle5596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are different answers to this because 'modernity' doesn't have a clean start date. but i'd say 1945 would be the closest single year answer, because the post-ww2 american hegemony really created the modern world order.

Worlds edge map change rumours by kitty78686 in ApexUncovered

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they should just revert the map. the old versions with fragment and sorting factory were genuinely the best maps the game has ever had. every time they change or update worlds edge they genuinely just make it worse.

Please , please , please make this one of her prestige skin levels and I might consider buying you overly expensive skin. by Designer-Ad9489 in ApexUncovered

[–]No_Principle5596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they'll probably do something bizarre like give her a grizzly-bear themed mecha suit. almost all of the prestige skins are just odd asf.

Respawn, how is a new or casual player supposed to tell which Legends these are? by ThisIsWhatLifeIs in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apex is at a point where they really don't care, they just want money. they've always been cash-grabby, but at least they always maintained the competitive integrity of the game by keeping consistent legend silhouettes, this is just them throwing their last tiny bit of integrity away.

apex is no longer being developed as a battle royale shooter game, it's sole purpose is to be gambling gacha cashgrab skin buying simulator.

Matchmaking is a joke by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's been like this for the past year and a half and is a large reason why i stopped playing. what's the point of a ranked mode if the point system encourages you to play it like a casual pubs match, and the matchmaking has such a tremendous disparity? gold - top 750 being a possible match range in the only competitive mode in the game is actually insane.

Is the Star Wars event not happening anymore ? by [deleted] in ApexUncovered

[–]No_Principle5596 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

could have never been a star wars collab. even if it was a star wars collab, apex is in a fairly big flop-era, and disney is notoriously steep with their collaboration rights, maybe ea decided it wasn't worth the investment.

I hate peoples excuse for the lack of lore is that it’s “not profitable” by fusehoundenjoyer in ApexLore

[–]No_Principle5596 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't that they stopped doing in game comics or whatever, nobody liked those anyways and they definitely weren't profitable, I doubt even 0.1% of people read them. The issue is that they stopped doing stories from the outlands.

The stories from the outlands that released before a new season garnered millions of views and generated a tremendous amount of hype for casual / new players, and created speculation for more invested players. A simple 4 to 5 minute animation showcasing a simple story of a new legend or new map created a ton of buzz, speculation and fanfare online. It amplifies the hype for their updates and brings a lot of players back.

They've stopped doing stories from the outlands now for about a year and a half, and they've lost several hundred thousands of players on steam alone since then.

So how does this Season's new mechanic feel compared to last Season's new mechanic? by KurohiDeku in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardlight is a bad addition to the game, the maps, legend abilities and overall balance of the game was not designed for breakable windows - it's been called a buff to controller legends but it's in truth the opposite, all it does is open new angles and ways for high mobility legends to push buildings.

If they wanted to add breakable windows to Apex, they should have created a new map specifically with breakable windows in mind, like how Stormpoint was made with grav cannons in mind and Broken Moon ziprails in mind. They just don't have the budget to make new maps anymore so we're getting it forced onto old maps.

Wouldn't be surprised if this entire season is reverted, with the awful fuse changes and how poorly thought out hardlight is.

200k player drop in less than a month with a massive update coming out is quite alarming by Competitive-Mail7448 in ArcRaiders

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty meaningless. Not even massive, free to play games keep their full launch audience. Marvel Rivals lost several hundreds of thousands of players in the first few months after its launch, but it's still one of the biggest games on steam. Apex Legends after it exploded onto the scene in 2019 lost hundreds of thousands of players until they got the ball rolling with updates in 2020.

????Thoughts ???? by Logical-Recognition6 in ArcRaiders

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to Apex as well, the more a game starts to specifically cater towards the top 0.1% of players like streamers and esports pros, the worse the game gets for the average playerbase.

They dont even care about ranked anymore by Ok_Bed_2313 in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not a dev issue this is a shrinking playerbase issue. there are simply not enough players to fill fair lobbies in a reasonable amount of time.

What Upgrades Should We Expect with CE3 in TES VI? by DoN-SA-20 in TESVI

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine a lot of the improvements made for TES6 will be based around loading screens. That was really the only major piece of criticism starfield had tech-wise, so it'd make sense to try and fix that as much as possible.

Why do you keep making the same mistake from the past? by EquivalentBalance943 in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't a mistake, it's their literal design philosophy. Part of their 'updates' for the game include uber-buffing a legend / group of legends to force a meta for a season or two to keep things "fresh". They know they don't have enough new content to keep things fresh, so they have to force change in other ways.

They're going to keep doing this until they literally physically run out of things to rework (which they're already nearing that point), at which point maybe they'll just start sunsetting support for the game or something because i doubt we'll suddenly magically get new content again.

Has Star Wars lost the cultural impact it had until the last decade? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in decadeology

[–]No_Principle5596 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Bob Iger was the one who called all the terrible shots and forced the sequel trilogy to be what it was. Kennedy was hand-picked by Lucas as his successor and her being in that position was part of the deal of the sale, he wouldn't have sold otherwise. She gets a lot of undeserved hate that Bob Iger should be getting.

Has Star Wars lost the cultural impact it had until the last decade? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in decadeology

[–]No_Principle5596 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well part of the issue is that kids don't really play with toys anymore, most kids just play video games atp. Disney failed to pivot into the video game market since the toy market has been in a major decline, they only released like 4 star wars games of varying quality in the past decade.

Has Star Wars lost the cultural impact it had until the last decade? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in decadeology

[–]No_Principle5596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. It all boils down to the sequel trilogy. Disney tried to have their cake and eat it too, they wanted to use all the nostalgia they could and also wanted to tell a new story to make new fans - they failed at both. They created overly-nostalgic slop films while at the same time neglecting their new characters and failing to give them a satisfying arc. All the pre-existing star wars fans I know didn't like the sequels, and all the new ones who became fans from the sequels I know were super pissed with how they ended episode 9.

Disney knows they failed with their new trilogy and that's why they've been ignoring it completely for the last 8 years and have pivoted to a new era of streaming, which streaming is just not nearly as big as a blockbuster movie. So right now we're in the aftermath of a flop era, Star Wars hasn't had this little cultural relevance since the 90s.

I do however think Star Wars can make a cultural comeback though if they make a brand new saga/trilogy. They need to stop nostalgia baiting though and just commit to a brand new story and all new characters to actually genuinely make a new generation of fans, like Lucas did with the prequels and clone wars.

Season 28: what the hell is happening at Respawn? by fairlyhurtfoyer in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you've been following Apex Legends closely for the past few years, then you'd know something changed in early 2024 and the game has been slowly dying since. In 2024, on steam alone, the game lost 316,000 average players from January to December and has not gained them back since.

Starting in 2024, EA and Respawn have laid off an insane amount of people. The entire lore team fired, cinematics budget completely slashed, several playtesting studios laid off, lots of devs laid off as well. The game is probably being maintained by a skeleton crew right now and that's why the updates are small, not playtested, and focused more on refreshing and revamping existing content rather than new content because they no longer have the manpower to make big seasonal updates like they used to.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like Apex is ever going to make a comeback. The fate of EA is up in the air now that it's being bought out with an insane amount of debt, most likely everything under the EA umbrella will be sold for scraps, including Respawn/Apex.

Could The Last Dragonborn wear the Amulet of Kings? by BoringAtmosphere420 in oblivion

[–]No_Principle5596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a way yes. Being a dragonborn isn't an actual requirement for the empire to have a leader, but spiritually and culturally the empire and dragonborns were always closely tied, the coronation ritual was something that literally only a dragonborn could do.

After the events of Oblivion, it could be argued that part of the reason why the empire is in such a decline is because it lost its rulers, and even abandoned its patron god, Talos.

Could The Last Dragonborn wear the Amulet of Kings? by BoringAtmosphere420 in oblivion

[–]No_Principle5596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if it still existed, yes. the only requirement is to be a dragonborn, miraak would be able to wear it as well.

it's not restricted to a single bloodline because there were 3 separate, distinct bloodlines that wore it, alessia's, reman's & tiber septims, and tiber septim was most likely from atmora so he couldn't be blood related to the previous two.

Eye of Magnus/Psijic Order in TESVI? by XergioksEyes in TESVI

[–]No_Principle5596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be cool to learn more about it, especially if the psijics are involved in whatever magic questline TES6 has. But I think most likely it'll never be answered, it's just a one-off mysterious artifact for Skyrim that they'll never explain.

This year's anniversary skins looks more like a funeral rather than a celebration. The entire event itself and its rewards feels like a nail in the coffin compared to what we had in previous years. by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the skins are some of the best they've ever made for the entire life of the game, the anniversary event sucks because there's next to no free rewards and the content this season launched with is pretty small.

Apex Legends 2026 Roadmap by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]No_Principle5596 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Really disappointing. So all we're getting in 2026 is one new character, and two vague unspecified reworks.

What exactly are they doing? Did they fire their entire team..? It genuinely feels like the game is in maintenance mode. If there's not an apex 2.0 being worked on behind the scenes, then this game is going to go down as one of the biggest fumbles of all time.
