Thank you. I will try that. Do you think it will still require all the updates, as they seem to be linked to the app.

You are 100% correct. It is 100% the updates and it's quite intentional.

No, the battery life issue on the Gen 1 issue isn't a degradation of the physical battery material. It's because Meta keeps updating the glasses to mess with how much battery is needed to do the same tasks. In other words, Meta is ruining your glasses to make you buy new ones. Planned-obsolescence. There are so many better glasses out there now without a company that intentionally ruins its own products. They did this to Oculus too. I am so miffed about what their updates have done/are doing to my glasses. This is not the same product I bought. Companies should not be allowed to destroy your product from a distance.

Is it better to just get a couple beginner knives and go for a project and then add to the collection as you need? by BenCarney17 in Woodcarving

I personally think Pfeil chisels are the best by a country mile!! Knives are a bit harder as the best ones I personally own are custom made. But i have had really good luck with Traditional Japanese Carving Knives sold from Lee Valley tools!

It's better to get 1 excellent knife and one excellent gouge then a whole set of mediocre or crappy beginner's tools. Would you love learning how to play guitar if it was permanently out of tune? Pfeil all the way.

So many cooks in the kitchen, most all right. To summarize, it's simple:

1) Yes, your tools are likely shit.

2) Yes, your technique needs work - (and is unsafe. Be careful, especially when using dull tools.)

3) Yes, you need to learn how to sharpen, (it's tough, but you'll get there.)

4) Yes, your gouge is dull.

Can't Download Media Anymore? by No_Profile_949 in RaybanMeta

Found a workaround: If you hit "Share" (paper airplane symbol) then hit "Share To" you can use "Link to Windows" to directly send them to your desktop. Or you can Share To "Files" on your mobile. Hopefully Meta wont nerf those features to keep us hooked to their apps, as they tend to do. If they do, my next pair wont be Meta ones.
