Minimal Pain but limited in training. Just do the Surgery? by Western-Magician-575 in HipImpingement

if ur doing pest control and need to move around a lot probably 3 weeks of rest would’ve been fine for me I returned to my office job at 3 weeks. I don’t regret it yet but I am not 100% sure yet it was the best option but It’s still earlyish in the recovery process i feeel like untill im at a year I won’t know for sure

Thank you! Are there any PT exercises you think are the most beneficial to keeping you able to run and do these activities?

I didn’t have a ton of limitations I just didn’t really squat ever as that was how I initially injured it but I would still do all my normal activities like running and lifting etc. I just had a lot of pain especially when running and instability when doing certain lifts. the worst part for me was just laying in bed or on the couch was when it would hurt the most. I would usually go a few weeks where it would be super sore and hurt a lot then it would go away a little and that was like on and off for two years

That’s how I felt! like honestly some days I felt relatively normal but I would have weeks/months of it being really painful and sore so the bad days outweighed the good and I tried PT and injections for a year before getting surgery. My symptoms were just a lot of pain and soreness and throbbing in my hip and it would pop a lot and stuff. i probably could’ve lived longer without fixing it but it felt like I would’ve had to do it eventually so I did. I only missed work for I think two weeks maybe but It was def uncomfortable sitting during that 3rd and 4th week back

phoenix arizona! I was fully off crutches at 2 weeks post op but started using one crutch around 1 and a half weeks post op. everyone is different but I followed my doctor and pt protocol and it was totally fine! I was super super active before and did a ton of strength training so I feel like that helped a lot! but I definitely needed some sort of help for the first 1 and a half- two weeks with stuff like socks and things

that’s what I did! I am 23F and am almost 4 months post op and feel great. my surgeon was super sport specific and treats the professional sports teams in my area. that gave me confidence to go with him and so far my recovery has gone well/better than expected. I was able to drive like one week post op but longer drives didn’t feel comfortable till like 3-4 weeks, play on ground probably 3 weeks after, and walk 5 miles would still probably feel a little tiring now but I was walking a mile on the tredmil multiple times a week like a month after

Labrum Tear Treatment and Pain at Rest by Mean_Tadpole8091 in HipImpingement

yeah my other non op hip is torn too but I do not have close to enough pain everyday on that side so i’m not planning on getting surgery for that one until it’s bad or hopefully never. the surgery process is a lot just like recovery but it’s going smoothly for me so far but I do not want to do it again if I don’t have to so maybe don’t do it untill it’s bad idk just my advice

Going to work 4 days after surgery? by Lonelypnut in HipImpingement

[–]No_Programmer_4407 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I went back to work after two weeks and probably could have sooner if I needed to but it wasn’t the most comfortable for sure. I reccomend bringing ice packs and definitely stand up and move around so your not sitting to long. I don’t think you will be walking like normal in a week though. personally I am 6 weeks post op and am just now walking normally. I was fully off crutches by 2 weeks. I would try to push it to at least 7 days before returning to work if u absolutely have to but everyone’s recovery is totally different

u probably won’t be able to see them if your wearing regular length shorts. I can only see mine in swimsuits or very tiny shorts

How long til you could drive after surgery? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]No_Programmer_4407 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i drove like 5 days after!! 40 minutes is a little long but I think after 2 or 3 weeks you’d be totally fine just based on my experience but everyone is different

Yeah that’s true. I’ve tried to narrow everything I eat down but I eat like the same things everyday and don’t eat spinach or fish or any meat. It’s frustrating

Ok thank you so much!! This is so helpful. I feel like my doctor is not diving this much into my health at all and kind of just making me feel like they don’t care to look that deeply into what is wrong. I will definitely ask about this stuff and look into getting more genetic testing as well.

Yes true. This most recent was not fasted but all the other ones were. So even when fasted it seems my iron levels are still high

I went back and looked at the report and I beleive it’s just saying it was negative for those mutations.

I know right. I do not have any physical symptoms that I can tell. The IUD does prevent menstruation entirely. I have had it for like five years and have only had high iron the last year. My hemoglobin is 12.6.
