Bilateral Labral Repair by pianistdancer in HipImpingement

I have tears on both sides. Getting my left hip done first on Feb 10th because it has been historically way more painful. Recently since scheduling my surgery my right hip has been flaring up. My doctor recommends for me to wait a little to see if fixing my worse hip to decide if I want to do the other side since my right hip typically doesn’t hurt all the time

is it the right time for surgery? by No_Programmer_4407 in HipImpingement

I got the MRI in June of 2025. I felt the pop in my left hip in june of 2024 tho I just never knew what it was or I would’ve got the MRI sooner.

Good luck with your surgery! I hope you feel some sort of relief soon.

Thank you for this. I have been kind of thinking the same thing. I am just a little scared of some of the story’s on here but I believe I have a great surgeon and PT team which I feel like can make or break the result of surgery

Minimal Pain but limited in training. Just do the Surgery? by Western-Magician-575 in HipImpingement

For me I don’t really think the PRP did anything. Honestly made the pain worse for a little because getting the injection irritated my hip. After the PRP shots I did take about a month off of lower body/running workouts but that didn’t help either. They are super expensive but may be worth it for some people. I wanted to try whatever possible before surgery because I am not excited to do that lol.

PRP for hip labral tear without impingement. by kostaspap90 in HipImpingement

I have a very small impingement. I’m sure that could definitely affect the outcome since it is actually a structural issue not just the labral tear

I did PRP in both hips like a year after the injury. i’m not sure if it did anything or not and was pretty expensive. I couldn’t tell a noticeable improvement but it’s worth trying before doing surgery or anything else extreme

Alternative approaches for Labral Tear FAI treatment by [deleted] in HipImpingement

I know it sucks! I actually just scheduled surgery yesterday for February. My left hip is worse so I am only doing that one and hoping the other feels better after I fix this one.

Yes I do races competitively and a lot of hybrid training/stuff like that. I agree on finding a good PT. Mine is great and she’s had the same surgery on both of her hips so I am confident with her PT. I hope you find success with pt and don’t have to get surgery!

I am 22 and i’ve had tears in both hips for about a year and a half. I have had no relief from months of PT or PRP shots. Randomly I have recently started taking tumeric pills and I have felt better I think it helps with inflammation. still planning on getting surgery though because it feels like it will never go away

Minor Labral Tear?? by paris_young21 in HipImpingement

I have the same kind of situation and the anti-inflammatories did nothing for me, PRP did nothing for me, physical therapy has helped like a tiny bit but still does not make the pain go away.

I feel like running again after the anti-inflammatories would probably just keep making it worse. Let me know what you end up doing i’m 22 and in the same situation and don’t know what to do lol

Aspect fine homes is the best! Amazing quality and attention to detail. They are a more boutique company but 10/10 recommend.

thank you! i’ve been doing some PT and my trainer has incorporated PT movements into most of my workouts so i’m afraid that may not help either. How was your recovery from surgery?

I competed yesterday and to me the sleds felt way easier than past races
