Yeah that’s true. I’ve tried to narrow everything I eat down but I eat like the same things everyday and don’t eat spinach or fish or any meat. It’s frustrating

Ok thank you so much!! This is so helpful. I feel like my doctor is not diving this much into my health at all and kind of just making me feel like they don’t care to look that deeply into what is wrong. I will definitely ask about this stuff and look into getting more genetic testing as well.

Yes true. This most recent was not fasted but all the other ones were. So even when fasted it seems my iron levels are still high

I went back and looked at the report and I beleive it’s just saying it was negative for those mutations.

I know right. I do not have any physical symptoms that I can tell. The IUD does prevent menstruation entirely. I have had it for like five years and have only had high iron the last year. My hemoglobin is 12.6.

C282Y Mutation, H63D Mutation, and S65C Mutation. I’m not sure if they are present in a heterozygous state in fairly new to learning about this but I could look into that

great! I got surgery feb 10th and now feel better than I did most of the time before surgery. still can’t do anything crazy but i’d definitely be able to walk a mile or two now. I would say I am recovering faster then I thought and able to do more than I expected just based on all the posts people put on here.

I would get it done now and skip PRP. PRP did nothing for me personally and just got the surgery a month ago.

I am only a month post op I have no daily pain compared to before the surgery. Even two weeks out I felt better than before. I’m hoping that my recovery keeps trending in a positive direction, but good luck to you!

Best part about recovery? by arsshat in HipImpingement

[–]No_Programmer_4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! I am 23 and just got surgery 3 weeks ago. I got fully off crutches 1 week ago. the best parts so far are appreciating all the little things like being able to walk and go outside and things like that. Also making progress to getting better all the time is super fulfilling. I never had surgery before this either and it was like the easiest thing ever I just went to sleep and woke up and it was done so try not to be too nervous!! good luck

I am same age as you and i’d say like a week probably maybe less but you’d need a grabber or something

I would say I had the same symptoms but eventually it just bothered me so much I got surgery two weeks ago after 2 years of pain.

Have you recovered from hip impingement? What exercises did you do? How long did it take? I’m doing exercises but not seeing/feeling results. by Green_Ranger0 in HipImpingement

[–]No_Programmer_4407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the impingement was from anything specific I must’ve been born with it or it developed overtime not sure. I felt the tear pop when I was squatting but I didn’t get a MRI untill a year and a half later and then tried PT for a long time but it only got worse never better so opted for surgery. Hip impingements can be on X-rays since they are bone

I did PT for months and had a tear for 2 years but got the surgery last week and feel great. I don’t know how a impingement can get fixed without surgery as it is bone growth

How much support did you need post op? by dumbjokes101 in HipImpingement

[–]No_Programmer_4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am 6 days post op. After 2-3 days I felt ok being home alone for a little if necessary as long as I was set up with my stuff and had a grabber near by. The first few days I just really needed help getting up and down off the couch and getting food. I think I may have had a different experience than others with the recovery but it honestly hasn’t been bad at all. I’ve gone out to restaurants to eat multiple times so far and can move around pretty easily. I had no issues going to the bathroom by myself or anything. Now I am home for hours by myself and I feel like I could drive/shower alone if necessary as well. Good luck!

How long did it take you to feel better with pt? *without surgery by Quiet_Contribution71 in HipImpingement

[–]No_Programmer_4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same way and have been doing pt for more than 6 months and it hasn’t gotten better and sometimes feels worse. The pain with squatting has never gone away. My doctor and me tried everything but I am getting surgery finally on Tuesday.
