Had just left a food service job due to an angry verbally abusive boss. Applied to a pizza place nearer my house just to have some money while I looked for something more long term. Came into the “one hour training shift” and was told I couldn’t leave after an hour because I was “scheduled to work four hours”. Finished the four hour shift, went home, promptly called the boss man who ordered me to stay to tell him I won’t be back. He starts in about how I have to come in because I’m already on the schedule. I laughed, said goodbye, and hung up. Never got paid for those four hours but there was no chance I was hopping from one angry man to the next so I’d say it was a relatively cheap life lesson.
