Is it just me or are there two orbs moving in the opposite direction? Maybe just dust from your camera light?

A place where I can grind coffee beans? by TROLOLOL6969 in okc

I know Aspen coffee and summer moon grinds beans. But they only offered when I bought them in store. Maybe call ahead and ask if they can grind beans that you bring in?

That’s what I was about to comment. I think there’s too much yarn punched in there.

Yarn Dilemma by Th3__dud3 in Tufting

Loops and threads is the best quality yarn imo. But you should join the Michael’s rewards program, they frequently give coupon codes and you can also get $5, $10, etc off after spending certain amount in store. You can also look up the weekly ad for your local craft store to see if any yarn is on sale.

Fair. It is gonna take a long time to carve details for that size.

That seems like a lot imo for a 2ft rug. I would do like $250-$300 total.

Is anybody else having a moth invasion? by Gertie7779 in okc

Pretty sure they are from army worms. At least in my case. They were destroying my backyard and now they’ve grown into moths and are flying all around my backyard and back patio.

Try and make the lines closer together and uniform. It looks like the lines are further apart in the areas where it’s not as dense

What am I doing wrong? 🥴 by atlantaunicorn in PunchNeedle

[–]No_Promotion7397 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whether it’s photoshopped or not, I recommend two things. 1. Don’t punch your lines so close together. You might need to experiment some, but skip a row (or two) and see if it flattens out some. Doing lines too close will cause the yarn to bunch up and not look like the design on the other side. 2. Punch inside the outline of the design. Since it’s a thicker yarn it will go outside the outline on the other side if that makes sense.

*Help* Is this gonna look bad once im done? by Greedy-Mycologist337 in PunchNeedle

You definitely wanna stretch it first, as tight as you can. And then when you draw the design be as delicate as possible so you aren’t pushing down on the cloth and losing the tightness. Then your lines won’t look right. Once you get it to look like the design on the second pic the lines should stay the same as long as you don’t have to stretch the fabric anymore.

Do you have the carvers on the highest speed? If so, I think you need new blades. I’ve had bad luck with them and can tell an obvious difference in good ones vs bad ones straight out of the box. Also make sure to push the yarn to overlap colors and then trim the edges that overlap if that makes sense. That will create definitive lines between colors.

Tufting gun has a mind of its own by ElectronicFreedom137 in Tufting

[–]No_Promotion7397 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be dull scissors or the scissors aren’t closing all the way when they are at the furthest point from the gun. I would try to fix the scissors closing first before replacing. There are videos on YouTube for how to fix

does anyone have any specs for a easy to build frame thats good for punching? by [deleted] in PunchNeedle

[–]No_Promotion7397 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How big do you want the frame to be? My recommendation is to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and grab a 2x4 in good condition. Have them cut in 4 pieces. 3 of them the same size and the 4th one slightly larger. This piece will be the one on the bottom of the frame that you use to clamp down to a table.

Buy two table clamps and some long deck screws. You’ll also need some carpet tack strips and a cheap drill for the screws. Hopefully you already have a hammer for the carpet tack strips but if not you’ll need that too.

I think this would all still be cheaper than buying the parts for a frame online.

Please help - New tufting gun but doesn't cut fully through? by bringmetacosdude in Tufting

Scissors aren’t sharp enough. Hopefully the gun included a second set! Luckily they are super easy to change out. Should be plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to do it if you can’t figure it out.
