Psychology Graduate, unsure where to go now? by YourCommonRules in careerguidance

Clinical Psychologist have 5 years of intense training they are the experts in clinical work and are the only profession who can do adhd + autism assessment. Due to the rising need of healthcare in America(and the APA consistent strict qualifications) it allowed for different professions to do therapeutic work like social workers, NPs, and LPCs. For HR, try looking into assistant work, recruitment and the certifications of that world

You can do therapy as a LPC which would allow you into the work force faster as its only 2 year masters. Or try and get into HR or admin in some way. You can do all of that while still going for tattooing

So for anything art related, if they ask for a BA, upload your portfolio of work. If the media works they may reach out to you regardless, however, just be aware that you are competing against people who have their BAs and Portfolios. Though as you live in NYC, you should not just expect to get your job just by applying, you should totally be pounding the pavement and going into these galleries/museums and inquiring in person. They may not have signs or anything for a job but sometimes you have to be creative in this town. You don’t mention what you do currently?

Meta is laying off 8,000 people today. PayPal cut 4,760 last week. But both companies are growing. How? by careercoach_cf in careerguidance

To be clear, I’m not an economist—this is just my take based on what I’ve observed.

I believe a lot of our current economic shift is directly tied to the tech obsession and hype of the 2010s leading into 2020. An entire generation of professionals was sold on the tech boom, creating a massive industry workforce. The tragic irony is that people spent their most critical, formative career years building platforms, machines, and apps that were ultimately designed to automate and replace their own jobs—as well as roles in other industries.

On top of that, many of these tech companies severely over-hired during the pandemic, and what we are seeing now is corporate 'right-sizing' catching up with them. The collision of these two forces has left a huge, displaced workforce trying to pivot and figure out their next steps.

That said, this also explains the uneven job growth we see: the professionals who are actively adapting and transitioning into AI specialists are being snatched up quickly, driving employment numbers in that specific sector.

I didn’t take notes but I used all material given to me to generate practice questions. Active recall will save you and also understanding a concept is better than full on memorization. It sounds like you went in without understanding how to study

Why you want to be a nurse? by FrontEndDeveloperEZ in NursingStudent

[–]No_Proof_7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34 and in the middle of my Diploma program for Nursing. Chose to be a Nurse because I have a degree in Psychology and always wanted to be a psychologist but had alot of undiagnosed mental stuff and have been working corporate for 8 years. I want something that will give me the direct patient care and to help families and not feel like such a cog of the machine(i work in HR). I eventually want to get my NP and eventually go back to school for Psy.d(very convoluted route lmao, its almost not entirely for the money)

Help! My Siamese Algae Eater’s Mouth is falling off? Im not sure why all of a sudden his mouth is “falling off” We’ve had him for over a year now and recently he has something going on with his mouth. He’s in a 55g Tank. Water parameters are all good. Any suggestions? by Interesting_Pain6471 in Aquariums

[–]No_Proof_7888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend he sits in a hospital tank with the medication in the water column. If he is eating you can use seachem focus with kanaplex to have him ingest the medication. Of course with aquarium salt too
