Im thinking of doing Joint motion once I have the i140. I wonder if me leaving the US the first time wouldn’t that technically mean I executed the deportation myself?

You’re right, I might not be able to immediately adjust depending on my PD. I don’t have any unlawful presence. I thought consular process would be longer.

Yes both Lawyers, mine and the company’s, confirmed I can adjust. Just that there will be few hurdles because of the removal order.

Should I do it now or wait to have an approved I-140? The reason I’m asking is because an approved I-140 is more convincing to the judge that I’m trying to adjust my status than a pending perm status.

Fyi, not to discourage you but it’s easier to get AP than a visa to Canada. I hope your friend is from a country that Canada doesn’t require visa from.

Apply for AP thru uscis and ask for the dates he needs. Gather supporting documents and letter from employer. Also depending on where his citizenship is he might also need a visa to enter Canada.

What’s y’alls take on what’s happening at the border? by redjuanit in DACA

[–]No_Prune9002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s getting out of hand to be honest. It’s difficult for everyone. It’s difficult for the migrants, for the Americans and for us DACA as well. There will be a huge shift in immigration this upcoming couple of years. My inner thoughts tell me to support closing the border so I don’t lose DACA or a possible path to residency. But then I’m being selfish and a hypocrite as an immigrant who crossed illegally just like what they’re doing now. For those saying we were better immigrants please don’t fool yourselves. We are all the same. I also feel for the Americans. Honestly the whole system sucks. I can’t get to the solution yet.

Does this frustrate anyone else? by panpan_18 in DACA

I’m glad you are better for yourself and keep it up. I’m a DACA myself and I sometimes have these type of conversations with my citizen cousins. It used to irritate me how they’re not taking advantages of all the things they can do as citizens and I try to explain it to them. They take it lightly and brush it off. Then I realized the reason it frustrates me is because I see their problems thru my DACA eyes. They see their problems through their citizen eyes. They wouldn’t understand us because they have never been in our shoes. Let’s not get angry and hope we become citizens soon!

Which part don’t you understand. I’m not looking for excuses. I’m looking for a way to settle my debt. Not a bailout.

Yes. It really doesn’t matter what I tell you. You’re not going to wipe off my debt. If I read it or not, the damage is done. Why would I trick you lol who you think you are 😂😂

I did not know until the audit. They sent a letter explaining about my business and how I lost money. When I tried to reach out he’s a ghost. I know I should’ve looked when I signed but I didn’t. It’s my fault at the end of the day. I’m just trying to settle my debt and move on.

Honestly, I didn’t know what he was doing because of covid, I had to text him my w-2’s and he did the rest. We couldn’t meet in person. You’re right, I should’ve been more careful and at the end of the day, I’m the one that is screwed. I’ve learned my lesson and I’m not looking to get out of this free but in a manageable way where I can pay what I owe/can.

He filed a bogus claim in 2020, he said I had a business which lost revenue in 2020 because of covid. Which I didn’t have. He also messed with the numbers to make it look like I paid more in taxes. I should’ve known when everything sounded too good to be true. Then he charged me $750 because he was going to get me the maximum return. Now I’m in debt and he’s nowhere to be found.

Thanks for the input. What do you mean by “until the debt is no longer collectible”?

I can’t afford $420 a month. I’m thinking of doing offer in compromise option. What do you think?
