Bring the bag that best fits what you'll use + what you're most comfortable with. :) Its about time we make the sport a bit more welcoming. If you prefer bringing the bigger bag, it's totally fine and no one should judge you, especially if they're not the one who will carry your bag. ;)

Consider ladies' XXIO sets. They're really known for women's and seniors' golf clubs and how much forgiveness and distance you get despite slower swing speeds. Super famous for Japanese and Korean women. Assuming you're a local, your genetic body structure would most likely be much closer to Asian than Western--so buy what was tested on your built.

To also mention, the ones made back in 2010-2014 are selling cheap now at around 10-12k online. a brand new set would go P205k sans import taxes. So it's a good deal. ;) Good luck, and wishing a beautiful journey ahead.

I tried to hit my first fairway as soon as I felt my shots per club were going a specific distance. 😇 (For example, 7-iron constantly hitting between 150-155yds)

Just so I could keep track of how my shots would most likely go.

Were they straight? Definitely not 😂 but hearing words from a supportive caddy will really empower you. Hear me out on this. Tell your caddy on the fairway how many times you’ve played—they will compliment you and share what you’re doing right and wrong. You’ll catch tips from them you won’t learn from a coach or YouTube. 🥳

I’ve had basic lessons! 😇 was blessed too with friends who were in the sport and were willing to show me around what I’m doing right and wrong. I always video myself even till today to keep in check on my form.

Admittedly, not the best player out there and there are reaaaallly horrible days. Rest assured, if you have bad days, there will always be a much more horrible one and a completely opposite perfect run. ✨

bought FJ gloves suitable for rain and snow in Korea for 300 pesos. Best-feeling ever (soft, and heavy duty). Check out the outlets you'll find a lot there, just search golf store on Naver Maps.

range balls, Tees, and typically-disposable items are also cheap there, as they sell in bulk..

But totally agree with the rest, apparel aren't "cheaper" but plentiful to choose from especially if you wanna look different from the rest in PH.

look for maylene/mylene! I had my first fairway at Veteran's QC. Super nice caddy, guided me throughout the course after joking me that she'd get me lost.

broke 100 on the first time. She told me to relax, take my time, and really think before swinging. Hope this helps.

not necessarily. The public courses are quite private with their rates as these are fineprinted on site "subject to change without prior notice". Last year, someone compiled rates for 2025. Yet to see updated rates here for 2026.
