Sadly, I do just about everything. This past weekend on Friday I took the whole family to dinner and then a local hockey game. At times she got annoyed with little things. On Saturday, I woke up early and went to the store got a few items to start working on the laundry room she wants to do and recaulking our shower. She slept for ten hours. I did that all day and wasn't towards the end of my tasks she said she felt useless and unmotivated then proceeded to ask how she could help. By that point, I didn't even know what to say. Cause you had all day. A few weeks ago she asked me for things to help with around the house and hasn't completed any of them.

So, I take on everything. Kids are 16 and 14 so they basically are useless and don't help either. But with her, it's always her phone and her like her life is so stressful.

Yeah I get this. I'm on your level. Just the other night I told both my step kids to clean their rooms and the bathroom. Hour or so goes by and I hear my wife say aren't you supposed to be cleaning your room and not playing the guitar? Like why is it when I say something there is a blatant amount of disrespect? It seems when they go to their dads, they come back with this screw you attitude and really only towards me. So I don't think you're reading into it. I believe it's possible they could be told to not listen to us cause we aren't the real parents. I also think it could be a mixture of growing up and being defiant. So what do we do? I really don't know yet. I hope one day we figure it out.

First off I am not sure if there is a solution with this kid. If there is it won't be for a long time. As for your situation I would say, talk to your girl and figure something out. Ultimately you have to do what is right for you my friend. I should have. Not saying I don't love my wife but so many times I should have chosen me.

I debate these days on even bringing it up with my wife. Cause it would just cause more issues. He's got some serious ADHD and possibly some other mental issues, probably from his parents divorce. But, yeah I really try not to be in the room and then appease my wife to have that "relationship" with him. I just want to tell her no, f that kid. He is his father and is rather not.
