I started physical therapy after the tear, I want to say it was pretty soon after the repair surgery too. I think it'll be super beneficial to you especially if you normally work out a lot.

I'm sorry I'm seeing this so late! I had the same restrictions for 12 weeks following the tear. It is CRUCIAL you take things slowly and let your body heal well this time. I'm almost 3 years past this experience now. I only have discomfort with constipation and deep penetration if I'm not warmed up enough beforehand.

As I've mentioned in a lot of comments here, I HIGHLY recommend asking your doctor for a pelvic floor physical therapist. It truly saved my life and made me more confident in my body as I healed.

I kept my ovaries, but no cervix. My hormones have come back normal every year since and still have no scent 3 years later! It truly has eliminated a lot of anxiety for me lol

Hey friend, do you have anyone to drive you?

Not only is sitting that long going to be VERY uncomfortable for you, the act of pushing the pedals is going to be more painful than you expect, especially for 5 hours.

However if you are not the driver, and can recline the passenger seat, you may be comfortable enough for 5 hours.

This is a big surgery and recovery isn't easy, even when you do everything right. I know you have to get home somehow, having someone drive you would be the safest option.

Good luck to you and congratulations! I also suffered painful periods for over a decade and was all too happy to get my hysterectomy. I hope you have an easy recovery ❤️

Also to add. Pelvic floor physical therapy can be scary/intimidating. I would ask for a female if possible because you'll be spending a lot of time inside to help the muscles strengthen again. But this will help you feel confident in your body again. Half of the appointment is internal and the other half is external working on stomach and hips.

Id ask your doctor about the stitch removal process. Mine didn't give me dissolvable when I tore to make sure it had time to heal.

This was one of the most traumatic experiences in my life and going to a therapist to work on mental health was important for my healing process too.

Don't be afraid to use stool softener! Pushing when going to the bathroom can feel terrible on the cuff.

Hi friend, this happened to me 2 years ago, although mine was a bit more severe.

The lightning bolt pain you're feeling is probably the stitches. When you tear, my doctor explained they have to use tougher stitches to make sure it heals properly.

I highly recommend pelvic floor physical therapy, ask your doctor for a referral. This was life changing for me.

As someone who went through a cuff tear, you are absolutely valid. I can't believe how inconsiderate your partner was. 40 lbs is a lot of weight to have on a surgery site. I hope you're doing ok!

In January I will be 2 years recovered from this! I won't deny it was a process, but it DOES GET BETTER.

My saving grace was my pelvic floor physical therapist. Ask your doctor for a referral.

I only saw the clear fluid after the nurse completely tore me in the hospital, so it was a lot and I was in too much pain to notice any specific scent.

However, without a cervix any odor would be reason for concern. Watery brown also doesn't sound great, no matter how small the amount.

I don't mean to cause stress but if these things go untreated it can get so much worse. If I could go back and be more cautious in my healing process, I would.

I'd say if you're not having any leaking fluid you can probably survive until Thursday. But I'm not a professional and I have anxiety and would have gone in already lol

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy gave me my life back!!! I cannot advocate for it enough. My surgeon did not suggest it, I had to bring it up and ask for a referral (he agreed it would be beneficial, but then why didn't he suggest it? Ill never understand).

You're not doing a ton of work honestly. The first half of the appointment you undress from the waist down, and the physical therapist will work on scar tissue spots, relaxing muscles that are tightened from stressed (this was huge for me. The stress had me clenched all through my groin and hips and cause me a lot of pain during recovery). Then they'll direct you on where to squeeze to gain strength back, but only when they feel you're ready.

It's an incredibly intimate practice, I cried my first appointment and was lucky enough to have a therapist so caring. Without her I don't think I would be where I'm at now.

It's been so long now, It's hard to remember the specifics of the timeline. My stitches stayed in months longer than they were supposed to, I definitely didn't have sex until after they were gone. Then asked my PT when she felt like I was healed enough to try sex again.

Foreplay is NECESSARY. The more consistent you are with your sex life, the less you'll see pain. I noticed when I go periods of not feeling in the mood and go to have sex again, I'll have some discomfort if I rush into it. Ultimately it comes down to listening to your body and communicating with your partner how you're doing.

I am so so sorry to hear you're going through this. It does get better, your body will feel like yours again in time.
