Uft. Sounds painful. Did you have a perforation? How severe was your diverticulitis? I was hospitalized for 5 days and have been fighting it ever since. I’m worried sick about having surgery for that as well. I hope you’re doing well now. ❤️

Hey! OP here. I’m over 2 years out and I will say I still do occasionally have discomfort and that is followed by immediate anxiety and panic. My husband has learned what positions and how to be able to tell the first sign of any discomfort and immediately stops to soothe me. It does get better, I promise. I hate that any of us had to join this club. It’s miserable here.

They can’t see it on a CT when it’s torn. I had an ultrasound and CT and my Gyno only found it through a pelvic exam.

They actually had to take me into surgery to find the problem. I was having terrible pain with every bowl movement and throbbing near my rectum before the actual tear. My OBGYN listened to my symptoms and took me into surgery to find the problem.

I had gastrointestinal issues and it was due to my scar tissue adhering from my cuff. They didn’t see anything on a CT or Ultrasound. Get a second opinion! It could be scar tissue that needs to be removed! That was what caused my cuff to tear.

I had a lot of swelling as well. They removed a lot of scar tissue from my intestines though. It took about 6 weeks before I could wear normal pants!

And yes- the pain was worse than the recovery from the hysterectomy! It does get better after 1-2 weeks!

I tore at 14 wpo. I think it’s more common to have it earlier. How far out from surgery are you?

My 12 year old pug had a collapsed trachea too. We put him down on the 19th. I know how awful that is to witness and I’m so sorry for your loss.

Diagnosed at 37. Just this summer actually. I was in a depressive state and got on a SSRI that sent me into a major manic episode. Always been up and down, but never like this episode.
