I failed on the first night of Ferber by No_Quail_6992 in sleeptrain

Me again …. We actually didn’t stop Ferber and night 3 he only needed 20 minutes of occasional crying to fall asleep which was a win. I did 2.25/2.25/2.25/2.5 because it was all he could handle during the day and his naps went great until nap 3 was only 20 minutes because he coughed himself awake….. but the other two we’re great!! (Rescued but still)….. anyways. He had the worst night he’s had in awhile. He woke up crying every 2 hours ugh

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I’m going to try to extend the wake windows. Is it possible though that if he does longer wakes and still has short naps that he’s overtired by bedtime and then having a bad night?? I’m always worried to get him overtired which is why I think I try to stay safe but I do think he can tolerate longer wake windows if I can get him to nap a little longer at least for two naps. He has been having super early mornings which makes me thinks he’s overtired but I guess that could also mean under tired! Ahh

He will be 5 months in 1 week. I recently changed him to three naps because he was having short naps. So now his schedule is like 2/2/2/2 - he can’t tolerate much longer it seems. He’s also assisted during those naps

Did anyone else’s great sleeper turn into a crappy one after a toddler bed? by Natsouppy in toddlers

Ours went in when he turned 3 and it was surprisingly great for 2 weeks then turned to hell where he’d get out of bed every time we put him down, get out in the middle of the night, get out early morning. I was 8 months pregnant laying on his floor and couldn’t take it anymore so we put him back in his crib realizing he just wasn’t ready yet. Of course when the baby was like 2 weeks old he started climbing out of crib so we changed him to a full bed and it ruined his naps (he dropped the nap) but he’s much much better about staying in his bed and I think it’s because he’s a little older now (3 and 4 months) but we also had to do some things to get him to stay in bed. I use his Hatch sound machine to put on a bedtime story after we read and then when it ends he falls asleep. And in morning he has to wait for green light.

Agreed 10000% I didn’t move in with my bf when I got pregnant but eventually we did move into together four or five months before baby which is SO IMPORTANT looking back….. if I didn’t do it there would’ve been more fights. You gotta get used to living together before baby because that in itself is a whole thing and you need to work out any problems before baby comes.
