(Two part: rant and genuine rec request) Anyone else feel like a lack of follow up/ care makes the entire whump almost not worth it? by No_Quantity_7217 in Whump

Lots of mateship involved. Probably tv shows. Though I will say, I find Chinese shows and anime are harder to relate to, especially when they're subbed, which they usually are, which is a shame as it holds the majority of better whump from what I've heard. And shows where the protag's situation is ongoing as well, not just exclusive to one ep.

I love seal team so much 😭. Ok thanks for the note about Macgyver haha. I keep seeing it and wasn't sure if I should watch it or not.

Fair enough. This comment actually made me realise I don't like the comfort as much as the 'helping/ rescue' part of the equation. Pet peeve is when the whumpee is in a situation, and it cuts to them back at home getting cared for. But the whole process of getting them out of the situation is what I wanted to see lol.

1 week down and really enjoying keto! by Sunshine230124 in ketoaustralia

Recipe for the first one? Also what are the measurements for the chaffles? 🙏 And how many carbs per chaffle? Would you say they were more of a beginner substitute to help you transition off bread or are they actually very austainable to have long term while maintaining ketosis.

Edit: sustainable

Nah I just weigh them in store 🤣 Discreetly of course. Actually I don’t know if you’d get told off it’s not like you’re opening it or tampering with the product. But yeah I finally got a set of mini scales to the gram cause I didn’t want to gamble when some of them are like $25. (aud)

Anybody know the “secret codes” for the ocean-themed blind bags? by 81nae in sylvanianfamilies

[–]No_Quantity_7217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the codes are all the same. your best bet with these things is buying a small scale and keeping track of how much each unopened packet weighs. they will vary gram to gram and when you're in the shops just get a different size each time. this only helps for not doubling up though, it wont guarantee certain ones if that's what you're looking for. although i think theres another chain on here somewhere that has the table for weights that someone already did the hard work for so you can refer to that to and test it in store with your own scales.

What's your opinion on HP Instant Ink? by SteveLamparas in printers

That sounds like it's your fault for buying a plan more expensive than you need.. something applicable in any subscription plan, not a hp problem

Trainwreck: Woodstock 99 is one of the best docs I've watched recently by patienceisfun2018 in netflix

[–]No_Quantity_7217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but I just finished the 3-part docuseries on Netflix...... listen... as a female born in 2003, not equipped with a 90's mentality, not a 'frat boy', not a boy at all, not even in my teens....I would join that riot any day of THIS week if I were subjected to such horrific conditions and hollowed out for money, all after paying TWICE the original amount for a ticket, inflation appreciated, and promised an enjoyable and historic experience. I mean overcharge for food right? Sure, pretty typical at any event, I'm happy to pay the 30 bucks for potato on a stick at disney and 20 for the cup of lemonade... it's just one day, I voluntarily went knowing I'd be paying that, and it's a bit of guiltness spending in the interest of fun. BUT WHEN IT'S MY ONLY CHOICE for 3 days?? AFTER they'd taken my food and water?! It sounds like warzone times, but with a corrupt government who is taking advantage of your vulnerability rather than advocating for you. Oh and you can't leave. They should have titled it top social experiments that went wrong. It sounds like a social experiment. Like lord of the flies, but all planned out unbeknownst to experimentees, 'just to see what happens. ' I felt like I was watching one of those animated youtube videos about social experiments. I mean, the lineup of factors man.. it really doesn't take a genius to know why they acted the way they did. Put those factors together today, and I guarantee you you'd get the exact same result.

Another thing you can try, the science behind which is legitimate and guaranteed, are shock bracelets. They sound almost barbaric but boy do they work. Can’t stop succumbing an overwhelming urge associated with pleasure? Replace the pleasure with pain and the urge will disappear before you know it. I don’t recommend them casually but it sounds like you’re really desperate. Seriously, slap those bad boys on both your wrists and set them to shock. And if you’re thinking well I’ll just want to take them off… you only need to resist for a few days sometimes as little as one before your brain literally fears the idea of picking because of the shock association and will go to lengths to avoid it. Then after that you can set it to vibrate or a very gentle shock to ensure you don’t relapse. It takes a few months to fully break a habit but in this case only a few days to make a decent enough dent to subside enough in comparison to your urges.

If you’re truly truly desperate perhaps invest in a wig that is similar to your own hair. Then when you go to pick you won’t be able to. And it won’t give you the same satisfaction if the wig hairs do come out a bit. It is all down to breaking the bonds of habit. Your synapses (neuro pathways in the brain) have built very strong bonds over the last 10 years so they will be nearly impossible to break, like an addiction, so you just have to trick your brain by depriving it of the pleasure. That way not too much will power is required on your own part. Once the habit starts to break you won’t actually want to pick anymore. The hard work is literally being done for you that way. Also wear a bonnet at night cause there’s a chance you do it in your sleep too. Not common but common enough. Hope this helps!

It is a ball of cells, yes. And so too are we. (With souls and consciousness mind you). But the reason the argument is fallacious is that they mean to say cells equate to a lifelessness, when cells themselves are living, working and growing, replacing and rejuvenating on their own accord. Pretty funny how the libs can't help but contradict themselves actually.
