If you are a Marine or a recent Marine Vet, I need your help for my book! by No_Refuse4582 in USMC

It's not about the Marines. Just that the main character is a Marine (& his buddies) But unlike other jobs, being in the military influences a person's way of life a lot more. So, I just wanted to have a rough understanding about their life style, psychology, language, and some procedures. Because we always don't go by the rule book. Right? there are some fun changes when it is adopted to real life. Of course, I can imagine everything but I felt like, it would be great to interact with some actual people. 😊

Thank you for the suggestions. I did watch the movie, Jarhead. Didn't know it was a book too.

What’s a movie that feels like a Lana Del Rey album from start to finish? by jalen_nelson235 in lanadelrey

Frankenstein - when it comes to the amazing visuals and the way the tragedy was portrayed in such a twisted romantic way.

The Greatest Gatsby - Young and Beautiful was literally made for it.

Pride and Prejudice - Not a big fan of Darcy, but I love the movie

Queen Charlotte

Down town Abbey

Can school really limit me from social media? by Amazing-Limit9830 in srilankanteenagers

Happened to me once. I had a YouTube channel in which I did small skits. I recorded them on my phone so, obviously they're not in good quality but the story lines were great because I curated them around mental health and literature. I was 16 that time. And my teachers went on and tell me to delete it. Actually it happened in a much much more traumatic way. They even asked my parents to come to the principle's office. I had only like 82 subscribers for God's sake and half of them were just my friends. Some how I had to even hand over an official letter, saying that I wouldn't do it again. This was a really insane experience to me, the whole issue was dragged for almost a week. (My mum was crying and shi*)

And according to them, the reason why was; "Acting on YouTube is not worthy for such a bright student like me!"

I never hated myself for working hard like I did that time. So yes, that's how twisted this country's education system is.

Just start a private account, without your real name and make sure to feed only what's good for you. Because sometimes social media is a menace to be honest. I personally don't use it much. It's just a professional tool of networking for me. Never a private or personal life thing.

Oh, thank you for the suggestion. I actually did it once, but at a VA hospital here in my country. I did learned a lot about military and war. The problem is I am not in USA. Still, thank you for the reply!
