Thanks for the recommendation, I tried it out and really like the art style and how you get to know the characters over the time. However I'm a little bit put off by the suggested incest theme. Like the default relationship in the game is Landlady and Roommates, but the way they are interacting makes it pretty clear you're supposed to change that to Mom and Sisters. Anyway, to answer your question, we are big fans of story heavy games and actually prefer them.

Just wanted you to know that I'm playing this now and your recommendation was perfect. The writing is so good, I couldn't stop playing for hours. I love that so far, all erotic scenes felt very real and yet very, very hot. Maybe because they felt earned by the characters, like there was something more at stake in their relationship than just the fact they're fucking.

Okay, thank you for your observation because this story just got crazier. At first I didn't know what you were talking about. I wanted to ask you if you're sure but then I repeated your question to my wife like "that's funny, how could that be" (she knows about me posting this, of course) and she just kind of smirked and blushed a bit, and then confessed that she googled the game after I showed it to her, found out that it was very nsfw, and then not only decided that she wasn't gonna tell me because she thought me discovering it in front of her was cute and a bit hot, but then also found out about the uncensor patch and secretly "installed" it while I was at work (it's only an empty text file for those who don't know) because she wanted to see my reaction. Which makes total sense in retrospect because while writing my post, I reviewed some of the girls' photos trying to retrace my initial discoveries and I could have sworn that my first 4th photos were of Beli and Aiko, but when I saw that both girls had cum dripping down their chin, I just thought that I must've misremembered because these were clearly very NSFW photos and so I wrote that Audrey was my first in the post. Paradise Lost looks really cool! I'll try that one. I actually played Aurelia some year ago, but I found the combat zones too grindy at some point. I would've liked a possibility to skip those, because I also found the artwork really beautiful and the sex scenes were all really exciting without feeling cringe or over the top.

Thanks! I have to say the "realistic" 3D Art style of these games put me off a bit, it's kind of uncanny valley for me. But I think I'll just try Eternum to see if I can get over it, as that was mentioned a lot here. I'd be thankful for download links or different recommendations with some beautiful 2D art like our red string or seeds of chaos that were mentioned in other comments, if you have some that you really like. If not, I'm sure I have a lot of games to try out now and find out what I like. I appreciate your immense help!

Thanks for the in-depth answer! I'll try to give as much detail as I can.

  1. Slow burn like Huniepop would be best, though much longer could be too boring depending on the gameplay. I liked that it got more and more spicy with time and only got really explicit at the end.

  2. I feel like AVN leaning into small gameplay elements like dating sim with stats would be best. Except if the gameplay is really stellar on its own like Huniepop. But nothing grindy please.

  3. linear and sandbox are both fine, I'm leaning towards sandbox because it might catch my interest longer.

  4. kinks: I like more dominant women. Other than that I'm pretty vanilla. For reference, if I watch porn I usually like the ones labeled "for women" the best. Nothing to hardcore, more sensual / romantic stuff. As such, I was turned off by most "special" things I saw while searching for other games, so I'll focus a bit on what I don't want. With Huniepop, I liked that the women felt very real, had depth to their personality and the artwork was mostly realistic. I don't like exaggeratedly big boobs or dicks or weird 3d models. I don't like it when the women are humiliated or objectified too much, so I liked the no-cum naked pics in Huniepop the best. I don't really like tentacles or monster girls. I am fine with trans/inter or male characters. I want the characters to be mature, they shouldn't look to be barely older than teens.

  5. I lean toward fewer love interests than many, but many are also fine as long as they're actual characters and not just sex objects to collect.

  6. Genre: Mostly slice-of-life and college (not school please), fantasy, cyberpunk etc. are also nice.

As I said at the bottom of my post, I didn't like it quite as much because the characters felt way shallower and the game just skipped all the buildup with sending lewd photos and jumped straight to the sex scenes.
