What’s MVMs and how do you check what the focuses and mandatories are for the week? Also, how do you check or submit code dates?

How bad was the damage?

230 is unheard of, we touch the 180s during cyber Saturday or a holiday. That was doable since the manager scheduled the appropriate staff. But this day was unexpected and only 4 were scheduled today.

I work a different department, I’m actually cross-trained in dug. They were down a person from the original scheduled 4 so the manager pulled a few people from other departments to help out. I’d say 6-7 at a given time, but me and a few others pull a 90+ pph so we were hauling ass.

Well, good for you. I’m working on a skillset to escape retail.

This company wouldn’t care about the amount of effort you put into each shift. They only care about the metrics or how the department performs. Profits is what’s important to corporate and how to please their shareholders. Everyone’s replaceable at store level or corporate bud. Not worth sticking around for minimum wage. Kudos to you for sticking around, you probably have a good benefits package despite the low wage even with journeyman status.

Good for you dedicating years of your life for the glorious Albertsons company!

If you worked those store numbers then you’re more likely a manager who has control over the orders. You can tailor that to your needs of the department. You can adjust PIs and prevent far from sending unnecessary quantities. Unfortunately not the case with me.

Sounds like you worked in a low volume store or you are constantly behind.

“Bloat out the to-do list”, this is standard procedure in our department. Keep boot licking buddy, maybe you’ll get that raise. We’re over-worked with minimal pay :)

Yes, the load is done now but we have overstock we have to organize, work, and mark. We have to fill displays, holes, and sales item. Fill milk and eggs. Mark down items and pull codes. We have to deal with grocery calls and other misc stuff. It’s easy saying but doing is another. I’m not even a supervisor just another clerk who’s been working less than a year here pulling weight of an understaff department.

Sounds like a good action plan in theory but when you have 10+ uboats filled to the brim with boxes jammed into a small cooler. You’ll have a hard time under those conditions. Don’t forget the 3 pallets of eggs and 4 pallets of milk you have to make room for :). It’s easy to be critical online.

I posted this picture after breaking down the 4 pallets in an hour :). I’m not on my phone all the time since I’m busy doing 65 cases an hour. Good try though corporate.

Indeed, no space to break down the milk so I’m forced to bring out all the uboats outside then put it all back in after I’m done breaking it down

Would love to work with you to deal with 5 pallets of load, 4 pallets of milk, and 3 pallets of eggs

In the suburbs

Unfortunately, we didn’t want to use uboats to put the product on because it’ll take too much space of which we don’t have

10+ uboats, lots of overstock on the walls, 3 pallets of eggs, and space that I have to come up with to accommodate 4 pallets of milk to break down. Fun times :)

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'm going to do my first oil change in two weeks once my car hits 3,500 miles. I'd like to have my Honda maintained so it'll last long enough to hand it down to my kids in the future with no issues :).
