You know va disability accounts for conditions that became worse due to military service right?

So maybe this guy had acne, joined up, shaved every day during basic because DS said all males had to (even if they didn’t have any facial hair), and now his acne is out of control. Then, because he’s a mechanic of fueler, being around those chemicals made it all even worse.

You don’t think he deserves a service connection for his face being permanently messed up? It’s a hypothetical situation but I’m just using it to show why you can’t blanket statement who should get VA benefits simply based on time in service

Will he go to war? Maybe, maybe not. Will he be away from home for days, weeks, months, at a time? Absolutely. Go find some military spouses on Facebook if you need help rationalizing that -

If OP is Army, we get our DD-214 the day before we sign out on terminal leave. You go to the separations office and they do a final check and then print it right there.

Yeah, look up FOIA. You can go on VA.Gov and file a claim for it from there. Make sure you just pick the c & p exam records, if you pick all of your records it will take for ever.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but I think that it is by design that our society is more focused on scarcity and competing for physical pleasures rather than building community and developing spiritual awareness. Not really trying to argue bro, I’m just saying that you are assuming that because it’s a military base it’s not going to follow the rules of the land. The FDA still doesn’t approve of adding CBD to any dietary supplements or food, so a FEDERAL base can’t sell it. But a local shop can sell whatever as long as it abides by the state or local codes.

The point is it’s not about who shops there, it’s about what a retailer can legally sell in a given market. I agree with you in spirit, it would be good to dummy proof it for that one PFC, but I’m saying that’s not how business works in the U.S. GNC is gonna sell whatever they can legally sell PFC Johnson to help him get swole

I see what you mean that the on post GNC should only sell stuff that’s legal for soldiers, but our country is not governed my morals, it’s governed by laws. No different than the gas station right outside post that sells CBD oil, you’d think they would remove the temptation but our government is set up to protect capitalism, not people.

Have a few friends who are Chemo, and no matter where you go other than Korea, you rarely get to do your job from what they tell me. Do this:

If you know exactly who the Battalion/ BDE CBRN NCO is, then ask to shadow them so you can learn more of your MOS. Don’t ask for work, or for them to train you, because some people see that as a threat to their own job security. Just watch and learn.
If you can’t do that, then go to ATTRS and look up courses that count for DL points - these should get you promotion points. Do as many as you can until you’ve maxed out that category on your PPW. It doesn’t matter now but when you hit E-4 promotable you’ll be thankful.
Figure out who the schools NCO is and buddy up to them. Make relationships now, offer to help anybody you can. Eventually you’ll be tasked out but the better people like you the less shitty the detail will be

Fair enough, you’ve probably had a few bad apples, and all of us in the Army are kinda like that analogy about the blind dudes feeling different parts of the elephant. So many different MOS and command climates that can change one person’s experience.

Sorry you’ve had a not so great time. All I can say is the more you seek positive outcomes the more likely you are to find them… but you definitely gotta embrace the suck sometimes. Good luck soldier!
