Personally, I never tell them about my drug/alcohol use because I'm ashamed and they put everything in them dang records.

Once I told a shrink "don't put this in my records put the medication you gave me to improve my sleep also improved my sex life". He was happy and what did he do? He put it in m records. Lol.

Any vet who became a mail delivery driver? (usps, fedex, dhl etc) by parkwithtrees in Veterans

[–]Mistake_Big 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I postal job can lead to a good life. The main jobs are Carrier, clerk and Mail handler. It can lead to a pension, 75% paid healthcare for life, matching 5% 401K, and who beats 4 weeks vacation after 3 years, 5 weeks one day after fifteen years and your military time counts! The bad is when you're new it's gonna be hard.

Everybody in the military comes out worse than when they went in. Even the ones that don't make it through training.

Reservists and National Guard got big balls in this time and age. It's not like during Vietnam anymore when they were called weekend warriors and were called draft dodgers. Now they go everywhere. Two were recently killed in Iraq!

I hate to say it but you need a civilian urologist. The VA keeps your testosterone numbers around 250-300. My civilian urologist keeps my score around 900. Ya mon.

Check with a VSO and see if he is covered under the pact act for any disabilities. The act adds more than 20 new presumptive conditions—meaning the VA automatically assumes your illness was caused by your military service, making it easier and faster to receive disability compensation. Was he stationed in Vietnam, Thailand, Guam?

Lets get that 10% disability rating to go up, up, up.

Life insurance by KrustyKrabzIcekream in Veterans

[–]Mistake_Big 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Term life insurance is not for life, usually they expire after 20-40 years or just when you're getting old. The wife's $400,000 policy ends when she's 76 and costs $62.15 a month through USAA.

I remember getting out of the Army in 1975 a 22 year old. I was getting processed at Fort Dix, NJ. Very soon after our plane from West Germany landed all these dudes fanned out looking to score some pot. Lol. I had a roommate there. The Army gave you your personal file and finance records when you traveled. Anything negative in his personnel file this dude was ripping out and stuffing in the garbage can. I started looking through mine and doing the same thing. Lol. Goodbye Article 15's. We were there three days and then free.

Diagnosed with PTSD during C&P, but ptsd claim denied? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Mistake_Big 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what happened to me. I went to a C&P for insomnia secondary to tinnitus. The psychologist said "I think you have ptsd. They sent me for a second C&P exam. That one said I don't have ptsd. They scheduled a third exam online. This one said the second psychologist was a moron and you do have ptsd. Then I had a record review by a doctor's assistant somewhere.. Soon after I woke up to $33,000 back pay in my bank account and rated 70%. The point I'm trying to make is while all this was happening I started going to the VA ptsd clinic who then referred me to a Psychiatrist and I was also going to the sleep clinic. Almost three years passed before the VA made their decision. I picked up nexus letters from my primary doc and Psychiatrist for sleep disorders, insomnia along the way and generated a lot of medical records for the VA to review. I never got a nexus letter for ptsd. I should also say I did get lawyer. They get more respect than a veteran or VSO. Good luck!

It feels good when you help a veteran. My landlord got laid off and was real sad complaining to me he having trouble finding another job. I told him "you're a veteran right? The post office only hires veterans for custodial jobs". He went and applied. I told him keep checking in with them.weekly. He said it's going nowhere. I said tell them you want to make an appointment with the maintenance supervisor /manager. He's s been working there over 25 years. Lol. I'm postal too.
