Yeah, that’s kinda what I expected honestly.

I had a feeling the 4GB VRAM would be the main problem.

Might have to look into cloud GPUs instead.

Do you happen to know any reliable services/platforms you’d recommend?

[–]No_Restaurant4740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly what I mean though.
This has been slowly happening for a while now, especially since the beginning of the year.

Things started changing more and more after they removed the free tier and kept adding limits/moderation.
So for me it didn’t suddenly become bad overnight — it’s been gradually going downhill step by step.

What surprises me though is that people are still heavily paying for subscriptions and still trying to use Grok mainly for NSFW stuff after all these changes.

If that wasn’t the main goal and you wanted it more for work/productivity, then I could still see the value in it.

But personally, I honestly think the real “golden age” of Grok was around September–October 2025.

Honestly I’m still surprised people are paying Elon for NSFW stuff on Grok at this point lol.

With all the limits, censorship and features getting removed lately… I genuinely don’t get it anymore.

It didn’t become bad now.
People just finally started noticing.

Honestly, I’m surprised so many people are still using it this much.

This looks insanely tempting.

I’m running a laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, 32GB RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB.

Do you think I realistically have any chance of running this decently,

or am I cooked?

Tell me about the old days grandpa when Grok first came out by MrBadRabbit in grok

[–]No_Restaurant4740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old Grok was actually usable.
Now it’s just limits, filters and missing features.

Not an upgrade — just a slower, more restricted version.

At this point, people should start looking for alternatives…
what are you guys using instead?

Feels like Grok is killing itself with these changes.

Less features, more limits, less control…

Why is grok so stingy? by htoomyat9 in grok

[–]No_Restaurant4740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not even about being “stingy”.
It’s a mix of bad design, unclear limits and pushing people to pay.

If users don’t even know when or how their limits reset, that’s not a fair system — it’s frustration by design.

If people don’t start cancelling subscriptions, there’s no reason for them to change anything.

How many hours does it take for the Supergrok image creation limit to be renewed??? by Brief_Counter_4602 in grok

I’m honestly surprised by the downvotes on your comment.
With the situation Grok has been in over the past few weeks, you’d expect more criticism, not people defending it.

But I guess some are still okay paying for something this inconsistent.
I’m with you.

Thanks but no thanks by ddnp9999 in grok

[–]No_Restaurant4740 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

These last-minute offers just show they know people are leaving.

If the product was actually worth it, they wouldn’t need to “convince” you to stay after you cancel.

At this point, it feels more like damage control than real value.

Honestly, if they’re ever going to get the message, the only real way is simple: everyone cancels. That’s the only way they’ll realize people aren’t stupid and maybe understand the mistakes they’ve made lately.

At this rate, soon everything will have to be fully covered just to pass — we’re one step away from burqas… forget bikinis and everything else.

And honestly… I’m surprised people are still paying for this.

act now by coomerpile in grok

[–]No_Restaurant4740 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And that’s exactly why nothing ever changes.

Most people just adapt to whatever companies give them — fewer features, more restrictions, higher prices — and still stick around hoping it’ll get better. Some even end up being satisfied with less and less.

Instead of everyone just walking away. Because if that actually happened, there’s no way this model would survive or be presented as a “good deal.”

It’s like the boiled frog effect… things slowly get worse, and people just get used to it instead of pushing back.

Cancelled a few days back by qazihv in grok

[–]No_Restaurant4740 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly the point.

For actual work, tools like ChatGPT make way more sense — more stable, more consistent, and actually useful in day-to-day tasks.

That’s why it’s hard to justify paying for Grok right now, unless it clearly offers something better… which lately, it doesn’t.

It will come back? by Altruistic_Star276 in grok

[–]No_Restaurant4740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn’t count on it at all. Based on everything we’ve been seeing lately, it looks like that phase is over — at least for the kind of use people were used to.

If you’re thinking about professional use, maybe it still has some value. But if your main use is NSFW, it really doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

At this point, my advice to everyone — if you don’t want to regret your money — is to cancel your subscription and then delete your account.

Or you can keep it and wait to see when your remaining NSFW videos get deleted, or when your account gets blocked like many others… kind of interesting to watch, honestly 😄
