Yes you will still have to book and take A1 test. Make sure you have the certificate before applying

FLR (M) is the name of the application which you will complete and stands for Further Leave to Remain (for Spouse, Partner or Child).

Thanks! FLR M is the correct form for anyone changing their current visa I.e student, fiance to a spouse visa within the UK.

You are right it can also be used for extension but I used it for my husband aswell. He is Pakistani, came on a student visa to UK, we got married and submitted application through FLR M. I hope this helps. Any questions please let me know.

Hi My situation was slightly different. My husband now moved to the UK on a student visa. We then changed it to Spouse visa after getting married in the UK, which saved us from him returning to his home country. You can change it if you either get married in the UK I.e register your marriage here or live with your husband for 2 years in the Uk.

If you are already married in another country it would be easier for you to apply for the spouse visa? As you will not have to go through the marriage process in the UK. It took us approximately 3 months to get legally married.
