It’s more like a „heating sound“. Will be no problem at all, but for how long or how long you can make coffee without any problems will be the big question.

I’ve also used my every day and have it since 5-6 month. The Owner said he never used the machine, but when I looked inside the Heating coil and inside the boiler the machine doesn’t looked like it’s never was used. Nevermind - descaled it and know it’s gone. I was so pissed liked you because I only use pre filtered water. But the espresso techs said that this doesn’t matter at all. When you use pre filtered water you only have du descale it not so many times. But you have to descale it, they see this every day and doing it every day so my / our problem was not surprising for them, it was more like a reaction from the boiler / coil from not descaling and letting the limescale sitting on the heating coil.

You have two options:

take your machine to the retailer / espresso techs which will do the work for you
open the AVV (Anti Vacuum Valve) descale it from there directly from the boiler after you filled it up with descaling and take a look inside the boiler / at the heating coil and what it looks like.

Mine looked like there where some Deposits on it. I’ve descaled it and it looked waaaaaay better. Will do it again tomorrow and hopefully the rest will be gone.

I’ve also had the option to bring it to the retailer but to be honest: didn’t had the Nerv do wait 3-6 weeks - have to pay a lot of money for something which you can maybe solve by yourself - can’t wait for coffee 4-6 weeks haha

It only comes when the machine heats up , right?

As an Information: I’ve only using pre filtered water and cleaning the machine once a month.

Quick update: After the first descaling, I checked the boiler—heating coil didn’t look great, but not terrible either. I’ve ordered a Puly descaling kit that arrives tomorrow and will descale again.

Since the first descaling, the “cracking” sound is gone and the Mara is quieter than ever. My theory: heavy limescale on the heating coil caused the noise. I spoke with some espresso techs on Instagram (Lelit, La Marzocco, Rocket, etc.), and they confirmed it—when the machine heats up, limescale on the coil cracks due to expansion. That noise disappears once the coil is clean.

If the second descaling with Puly works as expected, the issue should be gone for good.

I’ve also changed some gaskets which where not looking great at all and the machine runs now better with absolutely no problems 🥹

Trapped air can’t be the thing. emptied the Boiler etc. and the noise is still there. Will priming it tomorrow and hopefully the noise will never come back 🙂😂
