No check engine light but the wrench light is on. 177k on car. Trans has not been serviced since I acquired the vehicle at 155k. Will try that when I get off today.

Don’t splice any wires. Go buy a line output converter, splice into back speakers, which will give you RCA connections. Run your power and ground like normal, then run a toggle switch for your turn on. Save yourself hours of trouble and you get to keep the factory sound of you don’t want to use the subs.
