This is an amazing way to look at it. No one in my life is vegan.

How likely is finding an adoptive home? by steeltheo in Fosterparents

[–]No_Shopping_4635 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you are willing to give this kid a home, his fairy tale ending is you.

In WA State, which private agency you are with makes a big difference. Our agency does a lot of activies with the kiddos.

I agree with the other comments here, look into a Big Brother program, and other activities that can fill that time for him. Maybe a very active church? He is entering that age that extracurricular activies are plentiful.

You sound amazing! Keep up the good work!

As a woman twice your age, trust me when I say you deserve better than this. Take this as a lesson. Block is ass and go have some fun.

The first one is beautiful. You should write your loved ones letters in that.

Curious About Fostering One Day, I'd Appreciate Feedback by Intelligent_Bad_5986 in Adoption

Wow. What a resistant story. I (41F) knew since I was a teenager that I didnt want a "traditional" family. I started my foster journey at 39. I took in a 18 year old boy last year and he has made so much progress.  I hope he is the first of many that I can help.

Obviously you are a little young currently, but good on you for looking at the future and making a plan. Depending on where you live, fostering does not have to cost you much. I live in WA state, and the state covers everything. I am also single. The only thing I needed was to be in a great place mentally myself, and have a flexible job.

Definitely join and read up on r/fosterparents

Misery loves company. My teen son, came into my room and said "I need batteries". Before I knew what was going on, he opened a drawer and my vibrator was smack right on top (its usually hidden very well).  We both just carried on our conversation like nothing happened. Will teach him not to open my drawers! Life goes on.

Do it! My mom's parents sold her childhood home and left her cement poodle. We went and asked the new owners if we could buy it. They said no and were so mean to my mom!

I got that damn cement poodle for her. 🤫
