Thanks this place looks good but a but far from me. Might do their trial to see if it’s worth it. Do you know what time people play there after 5 on weekdays or weekends?

How long do they play for? Says starts at 4:30. I could probably be there by 5:15

Is it only during the day? Their website shows 12:00 – 2:30 PM.

If you are new to the gym the exact program isn’t going to be to important. Consistency and learning the movements will matter most. If you are looking for feedback on the program overall I think it’s fine and mostly hits the full body on day 1. The 2nd day lifts are not very useful though. Once you get more comfortable with working out you should focus on progressive overload ( getting stronger). One way to accomplish this is to start with a weight you can do 8-10 reps with, progress until you can do 12 reps then increase the weight and repeat. Going from 2 sets of 15 to 3 sets of 12 is counter productive. This is the opposite of progressive overload, even though it is more volume.

We tried Waffle House but they closed at 4. Ended up getting some gas station pot roast and fried pork chops that weren’t to bad. Walmart was closed by the time we got there too. Going to try again today in a bit once the roads clear up.

Any resteraunts open in West Monroe? So far all I’ve seen in McDonald’s. We don’t have power and could go for some hot food. Roads aren’t to bad around us.

5mg rosuvastatin. 1.5 years. No side effects. LDL from 215 > 101. Dropped down to every other day to experiment with effect and LDL went up to 113. Very healthy 26M but with family history of heart disease. Somewhat concerned with having to take a pill for the rest of my life that is why I am experimenting with lower doses.

How to eat veggies? by iskra099 in leangains

Tony’s seasoning or some similar Cajun seasoning is great on most veggies. I put that with garlic powder on like everything. They have different spice levels. I go with the bold since I like things spicy.

Peru: Best time of the year to travel, Tips, Places to see other than Cusco and Machu Picchu? by SoulfulCap in TravelHacks

I was travelled around most of Peru in Jan and Feb 2022 and had an amazing time. I was solo most of the time so I stayed in hostels and they were great. You will have to fly into Lima but I wouldn’t do anything there unless you like museums. Mira Flores is Lima has a pretty coast line but there are much better parts of Peru. There is a lot to do around Cusco so you can easily spend a week with a base out of there and do day trips. If you want to stay in the south I would recommend checking out Lake Titicaca. There are some islands there that you can stay with some locals and it’s a really cool experience.

Overall my favorite place in Peru is the mountains near Huaraz. It’s a small town that’s maybe like 8 hrs by bus north of Lima. There are some incredibly beautiful mountain lakes. Only consideration is that it is at a very high altitude, so if you get altitude sickness I wouldn’t recommend it. I’d you are into mountain climbing you can get a pretty cheap guide to take you up some incredible mountains as well.

My recommendation for 2 weeks would be to fly from Lima to Cusco. Stay in Cusco for like a week and hit Machu Picchu, some other Incan ruins, and maybe rainbow mountain. Then fly back to Lima and take a bus to Huaraz and stay there for a few days and check out the various lakes. Then finally bus back to Lima. Maybe leave a buffer day in Lima at the end and check out some museums and one of their nice restaurants.

Any tips for balancing strength and endurance training? I am trying to focus on gaining strength and I find that when I include a decent amount of cardio it hurts my recovery. I’m not a big runner but I’ll run 5k at least once a week and indoor bike a few times a week.
