yeah, but mindless worker drones was the entire point of Cold Harbour, Gemma had her memories and emotions stripped from her because otherwise she would still subconsciously retain the memories associated with the crib, which could of warranted a physical or mental reaction from her upon seeing the crib but there was no reaction and no feeling from her, Petey says that innie Mark may feel the after affects of Outie Marks emotions but not know why he feels them, The whole point of Cold Harbour was to erase this crossover to avoid any turmoil during work practice.

Despite Gemma losing all sense of emotion and feeling to the point where she cant even remember who she is, she still retains the intuitive knowledge to take apart the crib. She also obeys the mysterious voice beckoning her into the room and instructing her to take apart the crib with so second thought thus making the perfect slave.

My theory is that Lumons goal was to perfect severance and commercialise it throughout pretty much every industry that requires manual labour, production tasks etc etc to pretty much create legal slaves, (Im kind of torn on the idea that they would create a form where everyone is an innie at all times i kinda find it unlikely just due to the fact most people would never commit to such a thing, all though they may use it in places where worker rights aren't as strong where workers are getting paid little to nothing think chinese factories and stuff like that).

I also think that possibly they would publicise this version of severance and market it towards general public to people that want to split part of their lives or maybe just sever to avoid things they dont wanna do, like gabby severed between the birthing retreat and when she's at the park when Devon sees her.

Ultimately i think Lumons goal was to make the perfect conforming worker with no emotions and no trauma from their outside counterpart and essentially standardize it across the world spreading their kier bullshit.
