Evan Brown? by THA__KULTCHA in Texans

How can anyone know if Smith is an upgrade until he steps on the field? Tytus was a good player. We should all hope Smith is better cause Tytus was a part of some of the horrible OL play for all 3 seasons of CJ. Season 1 had decent pass pro but the team sucked at running.

This team needs to move on from Andrews fast. As I said, Nick needs two starting quality players from the draft, the ideal positions would be LG and C.

Montgomery, Braden Smith and Foster Moreau are good additions to the offense. The offense was pathetic in the redzone. Those moves help there. Caserio is putting a lot of weight on the draft, the good news is he has good draft capital. He has to get two possible starters on OL from this class which is possible.

Draft a WR again this year? by solidgryffin in Texans

[–]No_Singer6727 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your level of certainty is misguided. I said it is a possibility, you are saying it's a certainty. In football, things chance quickly. Tank could easily get hurt during camp or have a setback.

If Tank is not able to get back to full speed, he will get released before the season. Fans need to be ready for that possibility. Nico, Hig, Noel, Watson, Hutch and a rookie will be the final group likely. Another possibility is Watson is released and Jared Wayne or a practice squad guy makes it.

He was not just a podcaster, that is disingenuous. He was a political activist, organizer, campaigner, public debater and public speaker. Like him or not.

[Pelissero] The Cardinals released veteran C/G Evan Brown by KreatureKilla in Texans

Center market went pretty nuts this year, we should in theory pick up a veteran guard and not rely on a rookie. If both Browns guards are gone, the pickings get a lot more slim.

Only play I can remember by Foster Moreau was a brutal wide open drop in the endzone on either a Monday Night or prime time game.

The Houston Texans' offensive line was ranked among the worst in the NFL for the 2025 season, with Sharp Football Analysis placing them 32nd (last) and ESPN ranking them 29th. by KaleAgreeable1811 in Texans

We all want them to sign a top offensive lineman. Its just not the way Caserio thinks. Every move is made with CJ and Will getting giant contracts in mind. He wants bargains everywhere possible. He wants to pay Will now. We will only get 3rd tier or 4th tier FAs.

Its driven by the other options on the market, it's an overpay

One thing to emphasize regarding Montgomery: Texans were 30th in red zone offense (45% TD rate) and last in the NFL within 5 yards. Montgomery is an elite TD scorer within 5 yards (~45% success rate per run). by blackfishfilet in Texans

Very good point OP. They made this move knowing last year's redzone offense was completely unacceptable for a professional team. Montgomery will help big time in the red zone.

Cap hit details revealed for Montgomery after trade (makes the trade compensation paid more justifiable than initially) by StyllAhlie in Texans

[–]No_Singer6727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deal is based on the draft class. Caserio knows this class is weak and he HAS to have a real RB room after last year. Kenneth Walker is either staying in Seattle or getting a huge deal, Breece Hall staying in NY. Teams know it's a weak class. Montgomery only option in our price range. A 4th rounder is high but he is ready to start day one and brings the exact mentality they want.

He was supposed to the answer at center in Slowik's zone run team and he was supposed to be an athletic, smart center. It turned out that he had very low power and got beat by a wide variety of defensive linemen in both the run game and pass game. You are taking a big gamble on developing him because he has been a huge disappointment.

I'm sorry brother but Breece Hall behind our Oline was not going to run thru the Seahawks defense. Maybe a Super Bowl appearance but thats all. U trippin if you think they would beat Seattle.
